    Night landing at unlit field...

What ?!!?!? Your new Mooney doesn't have that ? :goofy: As for me, the only time I've made a landing to an unlit field is when the PCL went out on me on very short final. To be honest, I can't find them without the lights unless it's a full moon.

    182 in our future?

Grant, I'm looking at the same thing, except I'm not in the position to buy. I've been drooling over R182's for about 2 years. Based upon a Aviation Consumer article the post-1979 models have wet wings vs. fuel bladders.

    Interpolation

Even that would be challenge. Those darn dashes at certain temps and settings. At what temperature would the setting be allowable ? I'll just go back to guessing (aka interpolation). The Lean Assist on the Cessna G1000s is really good. Too bad one cannot interpolate between two tables in...

    Kln 89b Gps

I'm not a big of the KLN89B because I "grew-up" on KLN94. Once you've gone to the KLN94 the 89B will not stay for long. The "proc" button alone is worth the upgrade. The ability to "monitor" non-GPS approaches is one of the biggest improvements to situational awareness over the 89B. I got...

    Interpolation

In the G1000 birds, the MP & RPM are single digit precision, so setting those can be as precise as I want to be. I know how to do the interpolation, I don't like the time it takes me to do it. So I was thinking, get a computer to do the work for me.

    Interpolation

We're all familar with cruise performace charts. I've always wanted to generate some custom charts based upon the POH's figures. The Cessna's that I fly have performance tables that are at even altitudes from SL to 20,000' (even higher for the T206H) with 3 temperatures. For a given...

    Best glide with gear down

In the 172RG I used for my commercial we would drop the gear at pattern altitude, get stablized then normal traffic pattern procedures from there. The precision 180 power-off landings were no different. The gear would already be down, when I reached the target point. From there, it was just a...

    Throw away your paper charts...

I didn't know you couldn't see the whole plate. Ewww. That would be a deal breaker for me. I'm looking for something the same size as my Zuluworks kneeboard. I like to scribble so it's gotta be writable, Jeppesen compatible too. I don't mind having to "print" everything to PDFs, but they...
