    Fresh PPL, now what...

My first flight post ticket was by myself to just feel comfortable. Then, my second was with my wife. She was very patient with me during the process. Learning to fly takes time away from your family and money out of your pocket, so reward the ones that supported you through the process. As...

Commuting to work in airplane on company dime?

Hey all, theres a chance I may be moving to a regional position that I may be traveling to and from different locations for work. I'm not an owner but am curious, could someone fly their plane and be reimbursed for expenses or is this a "pro rata share" scenario? No one else would be in the...

    Air National Guard with Asthma?

They will be buzzing you now. They will be slinging your gear and making your radio calls in 10 years. Regardless of your decisions, best of luck to you too!

    Air National Guard with Asthma?

Dont stress it. Keep flying and pursue the civilian route. Your ROTC buddies will be calling you in 7 or 8 years asking if you will sponsor them at the airlines as an FO, while you are already in the left seat.

    Air National Guard with Asthma?

Units that have both Pilots and Navigators on their aircraft often times have a combo flying hiring board. Similar to what you likely experienced or looked into, units get (way) more applicants than slots they are hiring for. Often times, in my experience, guys with little to no flight time...

    Air National Guard with Asthma?

Understandable. I've seen guys move all over the country for a coveted AF Pilot slot. FYI, Navigators are quickly being replaced by Garmin and other cool, shiny things that makes Pilot's jobs easier. My unit is transitioning from legacy C-130H models to C-17's and I am now an Intel Officer...

    Air National Guard with Asthma?

Yes, I take a daily inhaled steroid as maintenance (Dulera, I think?) and have a rescue inhaler that is used as needed (not often). The process was long for the waiver with multiple tests and Appoitments over the course of a year of waiting. I understand completely. Military flight training...

    Air National Guard with Asthma?

Don't want to revive an old thread but I have first hand knowledge of this sort of thing. 1. I am in the Air National Guard 2. I have asthma 3. I have a USAF flying class 1A (Navigator) 4. I have a waiver for both military service and my flight physical All things are waiverable both with the...

Anyone looking for Safety/Extra Pilot in NC?

I commissioned late in my career, at 10 1/2 years and now sit at 17 1/12. I'm 2 1/2 years away from my 20 year retirement eligible and the NCANG is currently transitioning to C-17s, which is why I am no longer a Nav. I flew as a Loadmaster for 6 years and a Nav as 6 years. I loved flying with...

Anyone looking for Safety/Extra Pilot in NC?

I'm still in the Air National Guard and get SOME tuition assistance for follow on training at 141 schools. AVL is the closest 141 school so I've got some funding up there. Wish there was a 141 school in Charlotte. Where are you located?

Anyone looking for another pilot or safety pilot to fly with in the Charlotte area? Looking for creative ways to log hours and keep flying while keeping costs down and meeting other pilots. Me: 34 year old PPL holder with about 70 hours in Cessna 152/162/172 and Diamond DA20 A/C. Previously a...
