First and foremost we go to meet up and hang (that’s code for party) with friends from all across the country that we only see at Osh. We spend a lot of time just wandering around and seeing stuff—there’s a ton and too much to see in one year so we kinda divide things up. One year we focus on...

It’s busy in the best of circumstances. If there’s weather on Saturday or Sunday morning it can turn into the zoo at feeding time. Have a good plan B and even C especially if you hear holding is in progress.
Not sure about that, I do know Jet A has more energy density than avgas but that density generates a weight penalty which is not insignificant for a full fuel load in a typical GA aircraft.
Good for you! I like your approach as I feel too many instrument students who post here fixate on passing the written vs truly understanding the material. If you understand the material passing the test is a piece of cake. and you’ll be much better prepared to operate in the system post check...
I think ABC is still the clearance limit because they said direct to FXNAM vs cleared to FXNAM. With the direct to my understanding is they are turning responsibility for navigation over to the pilot but the route and clearance limit remain unchanged.
This is actually a topic that was brought up this the week on Opposing Bases. It's apparently happening with more regularity. The issue is ATC is expecting a pilot do X as part of their overall airspace management plan which is dynamic and predicated on everyone doing their part in a timely...

According to a post on VAF the objections to the plan were:
(1) it holds back 20% of projected income for reinvestment of the business;
(2) only provides for payment of 55% of general unsecured creditor claim amounts over three years instead of actual disposable income and more percentage over...
Not sure the $1700 price point is worth the upgrade just for that nano-texture option unless you're in the market for a top of the line tablet. Otherwise I just can't see how the new screen would be that much of a game changer. I've been using a tablet in the cockpit as an EFB for 14 years now...
Where'd you get that WAAS is applicable to only 537 approaches? Every LPV approach is WAAS enabled and there are way more than 537 GPS RNAV approaches out there with LPV minima.
As I see you are on VAF now, make another post over there asking if anyone has a 14 in NC, SC, Eastern TN or Southern VA that you could come take a look at and pick their brain and reiterate you're thinking about building--most guys I know would then offer you a ride without you even asking.
So as many know, Vans filed their reorg plan but you might not know that the US Trustee (i.e. the Department of Justice) recently filed an objection to said plan. Apparently today there was a hearing and the reorganization plan was approved by the court and the trustee withdrew their objection...
Building isn't a panacea to get into ownership-- there's a reason we say if you want to fly, buy, if you want to build, build. The 2 years and under builds for most RVs are exceptions to the rule--as I stated most do take 3-4 years on avg. I took 9 myself. It's a daunting proposition and one...
