    Airbus A320 Down

Does it work when switch is in LOCK position? Or just for NORMAL?

    Airbus A320 Down

Talking heads on CNN are showing a 3 position switch that pilots use to control the cockpit door. Positions are unlock, normal, and lock. Unlock is self-explanatory. Normal means the cockpit door is locked but a pilot can get in with a code and some other unexplained action. When it's in...

To IFR or not to IFR?

He has people who do the calculations in exchange for his advice on love. Edit to add : just kidding with you, Henning. :D No offense intended.

To IFR or not to IFR?

Dang it, Jay. Don't confuse me! :D Is there some part of you that wishes you had completed the rating? If for nothing more than to say you did it. :dunno:

To IFR or not to IFR?

More like I have the $$$ now, but don't really "need" complex time. I think I'll eventually go on to get commercial because the discipline of study, training, and testing appeal to me. And to those replying.... Note I bumped my own old thread. I had a bit of a $$$ windfall and I'm feeling...

To IFR or not to IFR?

Wow... How time flies.... I pondered the advice here, and.... procrastinated. I enjoyed more VFR flying. A couple of months ago I went and checked out another flight school and flew with a different instrument instructor. Night and day when it comes to organization. Gives you the...

    Pinch Hitter

I've encouraged my wife and daughter to take lessons up to the point where the CFI would approve solo. They don't seem interested. I'll keep bringing it up occasionally.

We are closer than ever, please contact your representative

I don't understand how anyone could go from 3.3% to "there needs to be something." I guess you could argue that the number would be higher without the current 3rd class medical system. Or.... How about we attack the other 96.7% of accidents that aren't medically related?

Heretic! BAN HIM!!! :stirpot: Burn him at the stake! I have no dog in this fight but I'm always wary of people who consider themselves beyond question. It's usually a sign of overwhelming arrogance or a cover for insecurity.

Rotorcraft mid-air in Argentina while filming 'reality' show with Olympic athletes

Re: Rotorcraft mid-air in Argentina while filming 'reality' show with Olympic athlete Dang. Video really hammers home how unforgiving a midair collision is when flying. What would be a fender bender in a car, boat, etc... is often game over in an aircraft.

KRDU FBO Advice and first Long XC

:wink2: Oh man, I thought the woman working the desk at Landmark liked me. No charge last time I picked someone up, flew them around a while, and dropped them off. I do find it bizarre that you can't pick up and drop off at the "General Aviation Terminal." They have a badge operated door...

    Runway Sideslip Drill?

Wow....... What a crazy thread. Right up there with "elevator is what makes an airplane turn." The drill is obviously intended to practice your skills so your landings will be on centerline with proper alignment. You move the plane laterally while maintaining runway heading. Why over...

    C172 VS Warrior

There is that..... I moved out to the sticks and went from a 10 minute commute to a 35 minute commute. A coworker assured me I'd get used to it. It's been over 10 years and I think it's ticking me off more and more.

That's what I figured... I'm just not there yet.

    C172 VS Warrior

I may have asked this question in the past but I'll throw it out again. I like everything about the low wings except the maneuver to get in and out the single door. Is it the kind of thing that you get better at over time? I'm still a noob and most of my time has been in 172s. Don't get...

Fit to fly... Or at least not die...

Ya.... I'm in good enough shape to run a half marathon but I can look at the video and see the knee pain coming. Why torture myself for some arbitrary test? I'm confident with a little practice I could do it while listening to snap crackle pop from my joints but why?
