    Dodging weather? Consider the lag.

Well I disagree. He was continually driving the situation and pushing the envelope because he didn't want to be late. The controller was the one trying to get him to deviate more or to consider the weather up ahead more. His comment that he would "play it by ear" was indicative of his attitude...

Why does a lot of pilots fear flying over water?

Nice try but both those videos are not relevant. First of all in both videos the aircraft are skimming the surface UNDER POWER which is NOT going to be the situation if you're ditching. Secondly you don't know how deep the water is in the first one (those tires may have been contacting solid...

Why does a lot of pilots fear flying over water?

Rubbish! Wheels don't act as skis otherwise there would be float planes with wheels instead of floats. If you analyze the situation as the wheels contact the water and look at the forces applied to the plane as this happens you will realize that the plane will rotate nose down immediately as...

Oshkosh VFR arrival: Choosing between the 90 knot and the 135 knot arrival

Actually they have. But since it needs to be 5 letters it is FISKE.

    Dodging weather? Consider the lag.

Poor bastard. I feel for his family they had to pay the price for this mistake he made. He definitely had an attitude though if you listen to the recording.

Why does a lot of pilots fear flying over water?

That makes no sense at all.

ATC orders go-around as a joke

You must be an incredible pilot. I'm relatively new around here but have seen all your comments and your skill level must be quite significant. Are we going to see you performing at an airshow sometime? I would really love to see someone as highly skilled as you obviously are performing live.

    What is a cloud?

Through the holes where the plane is over right now yes. The rest of it? Those are clouds pure and simple and no way you can tell me you can see traffic below that for sure. All I can say is that there are VFR pilots thinking it is okay to go through that then the big sky concept is what is...

    What is a cloud?

It makes me nervous when I hear "if you can see through it, it is not a cloud". From personal experience, different people have different ideas of what "seeing through a cloud" is. I once had a safety pilot who happily had us blasting through a broken layer. I saw a glimpse of the clouds at the...

    Handshake when exiting delta

Really? I do this occasionally. Is it really not allowed?

Long cross country in a 130kts plane?

For that trip? You will also need your IR and a 200kt+ plane at least to do it regularly. Turbo so you can fly high because your wife won't enjoy the bouncing and heat down lower. Doing it once or twice both directions will be fun for exactly once or twice.

Getting frustrated trying to find access to an airplane in San Antonio

Then you need the old (toothless) model they give the best head.

Getting frustrated trying to find access to an airplane in San Antonio

There is nothing wrong with wanting a newer plane. If you have the money why not go for it.

Sexism still exists against female pilots

You are right very impressive credentials. You her brother Tim? But... do not assume about the rest of us. What makes you think we don't have more impressive credentials? Just because we are not narcissitic exhibitionists like some of you who like parade around here on a public forum with your...

Sexism still exists against female pilots

Oh thank god. He's gone now. Every time he pipes up on a thread just seeing that fat white pasty face is something I've never got used to. I would never say that to his face so what a relief he is gone. Him or a pretty girl (same qualifications)? Sorry pretty girl every time...

Sexism still exists against female pilots

Well.... allegedly, he has multiple handles here and is trying to build some history and credibility... Because any new user who does NOT have some insipid boring "Hi! I'm Johann! I'm a 40 year old virgin who has just decided to learn how to fly!" generic pathetic initial email gets immediately...

Sexism still exists against female pilots

Nice attempt to backpedal. Too late! You came across as yet another loser who feels the need to blame their membership in some victim class on their failure to succeed in life. Funny how the successful women (and men) don't feel the need to bleat about how downtrodden they are.

Sexism still exists against female pilots

Oh you poor dear! You're a victim? You think you're pretty smart, don't you? Coming on here and giving us your wisdom and being so dismissive. You cannot escape certain truths that the vast majority of people reading this forum will know. What are those truths? Sexism exists yes, but it goes...
