    Crossing the Atlantic...

I'd never do it. XD But it does have a ballistic parachute.

Cell phones on commercial flights---whose rule?

Take a look at 91.21. From what it looks like to me, people have to turn off their phones because it is an IFR flight and airlines use an air carrier operating certificate.

    Crossing the Atlantic...

This experimental aircraft can do it once it is finished: http://www.raptor-aircraft.com/specs.html Says it has range of 3600 on best economy cruise which would make the cut by about 450nm.

    Pilot POLL

I think he means MEL (Multiengine land).

    Pilot POLL

I agree. I'm just saying, if you never flown in the clouds, it feels different, and it make take someone new to it by surprise. I actually had my multi-engine commercial add-on training done up in Groton, CT and the checkride in KFRG, NY. Before the three day training, I did two hours of...

    Pilot POLL

I wanted to make a distinction for multi-engine and single-engine, but it wouldn't let me add any more poll options.

    Pilot POLL

Yeah, I agree. My dad, who used to instruct, got his CFII way before his MEI.

    Pilot POLL

They're kind of equal, but one is generally teaching in a bigger more complex airplane.

Having an instrument rating is great. Just make sure your instructor gets you into some actual. There is a massive difference from the hood and clouds. Good luck with it.

    Pilot POLL

That was not my intention. xD I was hoping to see how many people fly for fun or fly as a job or at least see their progress.

    Pilot POLL

Yea I did, but it was a bit different because you could select multiple. I am actually partially using this one for my AP stats class for highschool as a sample population. The other one let you choose any that applied to you and it skewed the result a bit. Don't worry, I won't do one again...

    Pilot POLL

Sorry I didn't include it in this poll. It literally wouldn't let me add any more, and this is intended for faa pilot licenses. But I do have to say, I bet CTO is much more difficult than most pilot stuff. I mean... you are responsible for all of us up there.

    Pilot POLL

Hello everyone! This is just a general pilot poll. I'm curious to see where everyone is on licensing. In the poll above, just select the highest license/rating you hold. If you are an ATP and have your CFI, then select ATP. Hopefully this poll can give everyone a general idea of how the pilot...

    Should I go for CFI?

I have a friend who got a job with Boutique Air as soon as they got 500 hours. I would love to teach! I've seen so many instructors rush students through when they aren't ready just to gain hours and I hate that they do that. I was once told... A fearless pilot is a dead pilot, and he just...

    Should I go for CFI?

Yea I am going for a bachelors in computer science as a hobby/backup plan in case I become unable to fly.

    Should I go for CFI?

My end goal is to become an airline pilot. I would really love to but I don't know if the time and effort is worth it for my given situation and end goal. Good idea thanks, but I think I would do MEI after getting the other two as I wouldn't be prepared in time and I'm going to be doing one of...

    Should I go for CFI?

Hello everyone! I recently got my commercial license and I am going to go for my multi-engine add-on in a month. After that I am not sure what I should do. First let me give a background of my situation so my options make sense. My family owns a Mooney, so it is fairly cheap for me to gain...

What are you looking forward to at Sun and Fun 2017

I excited about everything! It's my first time I am flying to an airshow as well as camping there. My dad and I also hope to find some avionics on sale which we could put in our Mooney.

    Part 135 Maintenance Questions

Yea I am aware of 135.427. From my understanding, this means I will most likely have to employee these mechanics or at the very least choose all the mechanics I will contract with (aside from the DOM) and get their names in the manual and approved by the FAA. I would love to say my plan for...

    Part 135 Maintenance Questions

Not a bad idea. Any idea on where to find someone like that?
