    Bose A20 Still?

I bought a Zulu 3 and used it for a month giving flight instruction. A friend loaned me his A20 for a flight and it was lighter and the noise cancelling was so much better. I exchanged my Z3 for the A20 the next day. So much better but cost $250 or so more... I hate Boise for being over...

My dog ate the end of the antenna off of my portable. I put some heat shrink on it and it works fine.

My CFI says that VFR cruising altitude is based on the planes heading

Looks like he is about to become a CFI. https://www.pilotsofamerica.com/community/threads/too-old-to-become-a-cfi.115743/ He's going to feel a lot of pressure to never be wrong....

    GNS-480/CNX-80 Still Relevant?

Financially partners would be nice but I'm going to give owning solo a shot. It aint cheap. A logical progression. I've flown the 650 a few times and it is nice. I'm not doing a 430 / 530 if my 480 breaks down. Just hoping to get a few more years out of it if I can. I know the 480 is old...

    GNS-480/CNX-80 Still Relevant?

I've got the 330 ADSB out transponder as well in my Comanche 250. The TIS traffic isn't working. My 250 was built in 1960, now has a fuel injected 540 that puts out more horsepower. Mine also came with an Aspen and I like it. I would like ADSB in but I'll have to settle for a Stratus 3 to...

    GNS-480/CNX-80 Still Relevant?

Mods: Can this move to avionics? I know this is an old thread and the CNX80 / 480 is no longer supported... But I just bought a Piper Comanche 250 that has the CNX80 and a GMX200, and an Aspen PFD1000. I watched the above videos and they were great. Downloaded the 480 simulator. Still trying...

    How to fail a checkride.

Have you ever had to divert to an unplanned airport while IMC? :) We can do our best to follow 91.103 but Shoot happens.....

    How to fail a checkride.

If the FAA is going to apply the traffic pattern rule to actual IFR circling procedures, then the correct direction to circle should be published on the plate. Pilots don't always fly into the same airport everyday and that is a basic fact. If they are applying it to VFR conditions, I get it...

    How to fail a checkride.

If it is required to circle in the direction of the local traffic pattern, why is that information not on the government approach plates? Or at least noted somewhere on the plate? Seem to be setting pilots up to fail.

    IFR three approach interpretation

What a mess. The Glaser letter was about PAR use and now is being interpreted to answer another separate question. It appears the FAA never updated AC 61-65 with an answer to this question as they promised. I think the DPE in this case has used the Glaser PAR interpretation to misinterpret...
