Flying for 30 years and NOW I have a panic attack????

I too have had this experience. The fear is real. A tv lesson from long ago helps me manage the fear. Do any of you know the program/teaching?

I think I'll give the fellow who rebuilt my engine a call. He is the engine guru. Maybe I'll report back.

We need to be sure we are putting good stuff in our tanks. I wouldn't fly with a new fuel a salesman from Oshkosh promoted. Maybe that is just me. Also, we know that ethanol free mogas isn't necessarily ethanol free. Many test each fill-up to be sure.

First time in a tailwheel - Citabria lesson last night

See. One lesson and you are starting to get it. Congratulations...again. Yes, I can understand labeling ‘conventional’ as silly. Your frame of reference sees tricycle gear as normal. And today it is normal. Now I’ll get my dig at a term. We competent tail wheel pilots call a ‘greaser’ a landing.

One advantage of traveling on an airliner, you can drink booze while flying.

There you have it. Both, especially the Navion, are a bit faster than a 150. The Navion can do better crossing the mountains too.

I still say that the 1200 plus miles from Arizona to Indiana would be quicker and cheaper by airliner than a beginner flying a 150.

    What airplane are you flying?

You may make such a flight. Can you? That answer is for you to answer. You’ll become a better pilot completing such a flight. An airline trip would be cheaper and quicker.

Wonderful cars. That is a 242 in the pic. 242=2 door, 244=4 door, 245=add the trunk lid for #5 door. That 245 wagon was an industry standard for some time.
