So I woke up to a $400 code on the boiler...

At work I hate hearing people talk about PRV valves. Happy to see you only use one 'valve'. We also do duct air leakage testing, DALT, commonly referred to as "DALT testing". Automated teller machine machine kinda thing, I reckon.

    Things Airline Passengers Do

My wife is a pediatrician, went straight from college to med school to residency to practice, so is young as one can practically be and also looks young. She frequently gets questioned on "when is the real doctor going to come in?" Used to bother her, but she gets a kick out of it now. Has...

Thinking About (ok bought) F-350 with PowerStroke 6.0L - Questions

Yikes. That's pretty low miles for a motor and an unenviable position you're in. My wife's Jetta TDI lost compression on one cylinder early in our ownership, and at low miles, due to a leaky injector repeatedly (and unbeknownst to us) semi-hydrolocking the cylinder. It actually bent the rod...

    Things Airline Passengers Do

How do you suggest children under 4 be transported? I don't have kids, and often question why a 2 year old gets dragged to Hawaii, for example (they won't remember it)...but there are situations (grandma lives across the country) where a 3 year old needs to fly...

Singer Troy Gentry killed in helo crash

Duke crash scared me... Girl wife went to med school with flies on neonate/pediatric runs and her husband is an RT on Duke flights. Luckily both were on the ground. Crappy day for helos. My neighbor flys an R44 and his mechanic who is a long time helicopter pilot just died, but in a motorcycle...

For Sale Citizen Skyhawk A-T Eco-Drive Pilot Watch, black, $345 obo

I was told that on an older citizen Skyhawk... Citizen said no. Needed more than a crystal anyway, so I was sending it to them either way, but was disappointed to not get sapphire. Good luck with sale.

    Another US Navy ship collision

I'll wait for someone else to FOIA this report in a year or two and read about it, or ask one of my various Navy buddies for the scuttlebutt assuming they aren't deployed/retired/quit by then. Sadly pretty thin in the SWO department friend wise, but I'm sure they still know more than I will.

    Another US Navy ship collision

From the linked article: Earlier, another US Navy official told CNN there were indications the destroyer experienced a loss of steering right before the collision, but steering had been regained afterward. That sounds a bit like the patch of black ice or the huge deer that came out of no...

Thinking About (ok bought) F-350 with PowerStroke 6.0L - Questions

I seem to remember reading a few not so glowing things about Asheville engine place, but I don't have any first hand experience. I wonder what it would cost to get a long block from the parts desk at your local Ford stealership? I still think you should see if you can get it in the hands of...

Virginia State Police Heli Crash in Charlottesville

I spoke to the new guy (not sure who other trooper was...easily could have been other deceased pilot) at the fuel pit at my home base a few weeks ago. They were in a VSP c182 and the one guy was "new to the unit, just getting some training in while trying to land at all VA municipal airports"...

Thinking About (ok bought) F-350 with PowerStroke 6.0L - Questions

Wood grain doesn't match, leather isn't as dark, and my buttons had different connectors than those on the new wheel, so I had to transfer 325k mile buttons over to new wheel. Overall pleased though for a not expensive, nor difficult update. Before/after. Top of the wheel was my problem with...

    Flying club online calendar/scheduling options

Thanks for all the replies/suggestions. I say 'free' because we run really lean as a club, but I'll check out the suggested paid services and see what kind of money we're actually talking about. Thanks again...better than a google search where reviews and recommendations may or may not be...

    Flying club online calendar/scheduling options

Howdy, Our club uses Yahoo Groups for all of the various online functions (scheduling, uploading mx documents, flight log, etc. etc.) The calendar function has been buggy for individual members in the past, but recently quit working for everyone. What other options are there for a calendar...

Thinking About (ok bought) F-350 with PowerStroke 6.0L - Questions

Minor update on my minor updates: New center caps/lug covers arrived today and popped on. Dually, so front rims the center covers are furthest thing out/pretty prominent. 325k mile chrome doesn't look like 0 mile chrome. They're really not even in the same arena. To quote my wife: they need...

Thinking About (ok bought) F-350 with PowerStroke 6.0L - Questions

I'll send you my black leather one that needs to be covered... Then you sell the fancy one that was previously covered. Everyone wins. (To be clear, I win because I'd otherwise stick that steering wheel in my garage telling myself, "never know... Might need it".)

Thinking About (ok bought) F-350 with PowerStroke 6.0L - Questions

Slightly changing subjects... I was inspired by this interior refresh to start pecking around for some parts for my f350. Have a wood grain and leather steering wheel on the way from I think a Lincoln Navigator to replace the currently deteriorating leather one in the truck. Also ordered center...

    How to unlock a door?

They come in Black, and Slightly-Darker-Black. Congrats on the door opening. In college we had a similar situation and [drunkenly] decided the best way forward was to mule kick the door in. It was not the best way forward, as alluded to by a few folks... Fixing a broken lock would have been...

Thinking About (ok bought) F-350 with PowerStroke 6.0L - Questions

Very nice, looks excellent. I've had my backseat in and out numerous times and it's not just a two person job, it's a back straining awkward two person job.

Thinking About (ok bought) F-350 with PowerStroke 6.0L - Questions

You'll have to let me know how the 09 stuff bolts up. My 325k mile interior has seen better days (I'm not the cleanest/neatest person) and wrecked trucks pop up from time to time with decent interiors, but I've always limited myself to looking at 07 and older... Ryan
