    EVERYBODY was out flying today

Anyway to see what the tail number was of said moron? I fly out of KMFV, barely outside of Wallops' (newly expanded) restricted airspace, so there is a chance that if it was a local pilot, I'd know who they were...but from the sounds of it (500ft AGL over the ocean), I'd guess it was a fish...

What kind of clouds are these?

Nothing but Atlantic Ocean under those clouds. But the wave part is what got me staring at them (and also the road...)

Yuk yuk yuk. I think I'm the only Virginia Tech grad in the club, so it's not really a hokie club.

What kind of clouds are these?

Driving to work yesterday morning, these clouds looked distinct...what kind of clouds and what would the weather implications be for flying? That's looking East out of the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay from the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel.

    Valve stem fun...

Some German engineer's head exploded when you referred to an e55 as a potential "beater" car Ted.

For Sale 1946 Ercoupe for sale

Still seems like if the gear is the same, the original limit would apply, but I gotcha as far as trying to apply standard technique once it has rudder pedals may limit your x-wind abilities... But again, it would seem you'd just crab from there, probably at a lesser angle? Seems by that logic...

Cheapest plane that can carry two (or more) longboards

Somewhat cost prohibitive, and always concerned about handling damage... Hawaii, yes...VA to OBX, no.

Cheapest plane that can carry two (or more) longboards

No, sadly a 150 really doesn't suit much other than a cheap way for me to bore holes in the sky. Luckily I'm 155-160lbs, wife less... So a 150 does actually represent a plane that could carry us (nowhere far, and not fast*).

Cheapest plane that can carry two (or more) longboards

Sometimes a viable option, sometimes not. Mostly a mental exercise in any case.

Cheapest plane that can carry two (or more) longboards

Wife is receptive to the idea of aircraft ownership. I'd be happy to buy a Cessna 150, or any other means of air travel for the sake of just being able to fly, but from a practicality standpoint, my primary reason for personal travel is to surf. Cessna 150 doesn't carry 9'6" surfboards. Is...

    Flaps Inop

Our 172 had same failure, same description. Was micro switch as alluded to in above reply. Wasn't backbreaking. Was also exactly as described in parts, chose between Cessna switch at stupid money, or functionally identical switch for a fraction of the money.

    Anyone Here Scuba Dive?

I dive steel tanks, buddy Al. I've never been bitten by a trigger fish, buddy has twice, once leaving a lasting scar around his nipple. Dive steel. (Both bites came from a trigger on a spear... These weren't unprovoked.)

    Anyone Here Scuba Dive?

I dove a few dives off of Hatteras with some hardcore DIR guys. I DIW. I've survived thus far. I manage to float horizontally with something other than a plate/wing (though my BC has only a back bladder, so it's not far off). I don't wear a snorkel, though. You guys have that right.

    Anyone Here Scuba Dive?

I dive, have since I was 16. In college, needing money and being certified to dive, I signed up for a Duke research study where they were testing for the Navy on shortening up the time between flying and diving. Took a chamber ride to some depth, for some time (forget details, but i think it...

    A $100k pickup truck...

I have an f350 dually and an f550 (dually). I hope the 450 rides better than my 550. Unloaded the suspension doesn't move. All your cushion comes from the very pliable (sarcasm) 110psi tires. Otherwise, if I had the coin, I'd own one of the trucks in OP. No justification necessary (beyond...

Should AOPA work on creating, streamlining, and simplifying the special issuance process for ADHD?

If that's the case, it seems it's unnecessarily writing off potential pilots at no fault of their own. Our flying club has had two potential members have trouble with medical because of childhood adhd treatment, having not taken an adhd drug in a decade or more. One gave up on flying because...
