    A Company I've Always Admired, Chick-fil-a.

What I will give them is that they backed way off of that following initial reporting/controversy. I agree that I don't like where they stand, but I still get lunch there on occasion.

Here is potentially why GA is doomed

My thought on that has long been "I'm not sure I care" based on the assumption that my body in general will just not be as cool 20+ years from now. Will the fact that I've gone from trim and slim to pot bellied and wrinkled in places really be affected that much one way or the other by some...

    A Company I've Always Admired, Chick-fil-a.

Agree, but it's humorous how many times me and my wife are riding around running errands or on our way back home from an out of town weekend on a Sunday, when lunch time hits and we say "chick fil a sounds good... Oh wait..." I guess our godless heathen brains can't wrap around closing a...

    A Company I've Always Admired, Chick-fil-a.

Only if your flavor of deity dictates that you take it easy on Sunday. Other versions call for days other than Sunday. I like their sandwiches and generally receive above par service compared to other fast food joints. I have no gripe with them and think what they did in Atlanta was a good thing.

Certainly another way to look at it. Are they not then imposing their beliefs on their own employees by that logic?

    A Company I've Always Admired, Chick-fil-a.

One thing that's always struck me as disingenuous about the whole Sunday's off is that at least for the franchises around here, they're always chock full of contractors doing maintenance work on Sunday (have seen pressure washer's on what I'm taking to be a monthly cleaning of sidewalks, parking...

    Bourbon; hey, this is good.

On May 4, 1964, the United States Congress recognized bourbon whiskey as a "distinctive product of the United States" by concurrent resolution. Bourbon may be produced anywhere in the United States where it is legal to distill spirits, but most brands are produced in Kentucky, where bourbon...

    Bourbon; hey, this is good.

Eagle Rare and Woodford are my two favorites at a reasonable price point.

    Landing flare and roundout

For some reason that really alluded me in the first few lessons trying to figure out landings. You've stated it about how I needed it stated to me at that time. I couldn't articulate my confusion to my CFI well enough to get that answer. Other struggle I had was continuing the appropriate...

Hit some "light" turbulence today - questions

I misread "cave dive" as "cliff dive". It's a funnier mental image of a cliff diving instructor (in a speedo?) telling a nervous student he can call the dive anytime.

    Disappointed

I think something that would help in future situations... If Dr. Bruce would like to be compensated for his guidance in situations like this (rightfully so), he should broach the subject directly, and early. I've read a couple of situations where I think a new-to-the-medical-game airman is...

[NA] Re-texturing walls. Do it or hire someone?

I'd let the person handling applying the new finished product dictate the removal (if at all) of the existing. If you take it off, gouging the walls in places in the process, then hand it over to Joe the drywall man to re-texture, you might not have saved much if he has to "rework" some of it...

And in today's wrath of the big business...

My dad has worked at a single location men's clothing store for 36 years, owned it for the past 19... And they're closing after the new year partly due the internet/bigger store pressure, and partly due to the general dressing down of America. Not as many folks wear suits as regularly. Internet...

Fly runway heading, I'll call your turn. . . .take off clearance canceled.

The phrasing was humorous to me on the second one. 'How you gonna get there?' doesn't seem like it should be in the ATC manual, but maybe it is?

Fly runway heading, I'll call your turn. . . .take off clearance canceled.

Today a controller asked me to change to the frequency that I was on and had been on for ~25 minutes. I just responded "127.95, 3986Q" and assumed he was getting sleepy. Next guy on frequency was "N12345, VFR from xxx to yyy (two airports about 75 miles apart without any terrible obstacles...

    Was I unreasonable?

I wanted to test drive a niche market car for the wife, 3 hours from home. Made arrangements a few days in advance of a rare time that both mine and my wife's schedules aligned and allowed for such a trip. Day of, touch base with seller to ensure we're good, he informed me it was raining, car...

    Was I unreasonable?

I'd have likely reached same end you did. But I've been accused of letting principled stands get the best of me.

ADS-B Mandate thoughts (compliance, effect on resale, etc)

Pondering future hypothetical purchases and casually and informally surveying folks at and around the two local airfields I have any time at it, has gotten me to thinking. It seems that there are a few distinct groups of thought/people when it comes to ADS-B mandate as it relates to small GA...
