    Off-grid financing

Satellite internet is available practically everywhere. I'd look at the loan payment as a seven year investment to have the totally unplugged lifestyle. If I can't have it the way I want it, might as well work toward it. Work doesn't scare me.

Buy a tiny home used? I know a guy who flies an air tractor putting out fires. He's married with a bun in the oven and wants a real home now. I can get you his contact info and you can chat it up with him about tiny house life and possible purchase of his Tumbleweed.

    Off-grid financing

Yep, spoke with two drillers in the area. There is a shallow water table in the area. There are actually several springs poking up in the immediate area (one on the property.) Well logs around the property show water at about 30 feet and 4gpm.

Help me understand autopilot compatibility with the Garmin G5 and/or Dynon d10a.

If you end up needing to keep your current setup, I recommend Rudy Aircraft Instruments as a repair shop. They are affordable, fast, and friendly. As for you autopilot to new technology woes, I'm useless.

One of these friends is a lawyer and I would definitely look to him to make it legally binding in case things go south. He is currently a venture capitalists and small business consultant who is experienced in loaning his personal money to friends with a fair interest rate. Thanks for the...

    Off-grid financing

Going to get an appraiser out there very soon to price the thing. The seller has not been insuring it. Based upon future employment (30 days of pay stubs.) I found the post you were thinking of. It was "We plan to live off-grid full time. So the only priority I may have screwed up is not...

    Off-grid financing

If I am able to get a regular mortgage, I can pay the down payment out-of-pocket. If I finance the place through other means, all my other options are well within the lenders' guidelines. Good question though. If the owner finances the place and asks for 50% down, I would be looking to either...

    Off-grid financing

True, but short term sacrifices for long term gain. I'm not going to involve four different parties. If I have to involve the seller and a financial institution, I will. I will stop at two parties either way and limit it two just one if at all possible.

    Off-grid financing

After a conversation with Mr. Holland on the phone, he said owner financing isn't impossible with a large down payment. He encouraged me to still try and make other financing means work but if not, he might be able to finance part of it. I have three people willing to help with the down...

    Airbus 380 Pronounced Dead

7.3l Powerstroke Excursion... mmmmm... My dad always dreamed of owning one (he had an F350 7.3 instead) but my sister purchased a diesel excursion recently. Her and her husband love it and it works well for their family/farm.

    C-182 landing info

Really, the 20 degrees of flaps is a good idea to transition into the 182. I have manual flaps in what I fly and have four settings in ten degree increments. Thirty degrees is my normal landing these days and forty is to drop over an obstacle. Per Mr. Tod Peterson (and my personal testing) forty...

    Abandoned airplanes

For sure. I know of a Taylorcraft that has been sitting in an open front t hangar for decades and hasn't moved. I bugged the owner for years to sell it to me. Now that it is a total pile of rags, he is slightly considering selling it. Not sure I would take it even if it was given to me...

Airbus CEO sees 'flying car' prototype ready by end of year

I see the #1 danger to fully automated flight being the atmosphere. Nasty weather, rotors around buildings, high DA, they all seem like significant deterrents to full automation.

Looking for a rideshare from Cali !

I smell it often. I was following an employer of mine and I started smelling the reefer. I called him out on it. His response was, "multitasking."

    C-182 landing info

Agreed on steep and slow. I fly pretty flat relative to the horizon (wing to horizon, not descent angle.) with just enough throttle to keep the engine happy. I will use 40 degrees if I'm too high but they don't make for a slower landing speed.

    C-182 landing info

The bottom of the white arc is 55. With power and 30 degrees of flaps it will stop flying at about 45. It has wing tip extensions and is very light. If I'm fully loaded (2900 lbs), 70 mph is a better idea.
