    Where are they?

Thanks, that helps. Elsewhere...as in purple? Is that still a place?

    What would you do?

When I first started out, I was at LZU and went back and forth between the 150 and the 172. Even in the first two hours of training, the difference was absolutely recognizable for me, and I'm not just talking about the space inside the plane. I'm not a large guy by any means, so I'm comfy in a...

    Where are they?

I made a post a few days ago about my hiatus. I'm nowhere near one of the top members, I've always read more than I post, and I didn't expect many to notice me being away for a while anyway. But I love this community, the support from all the members, the great things there are to learn, and...

    VPZ Crash Today

She's quite wrinkled, I can say that much. Not as bad of course as an actual crash, but bad enough. Struts on one side caved in and the wing bent. Couldn't see tell if the struts on the other side were caved in, but the wing was also bent. Tail was wrinkled, prop was bent on both sides, and on...

    Would this bother you, N/A

Most places I've been on trains around the world have quiet cars and loud cars. If you're in a loud car, well, unfortunately it's all out, and you take what you get. The quiet cars are fantastic. I made the mistake once of answering a call (my phone was on vibrate) ONLY to say "I'm sorry, I...

    Unwarranted volunteer firings at Oshkosh

Question. For the event, with everything going on, do they bring in additional volunteer fire and EMS units to cover that week? Or do they just rely on the local ARFF team on-site to bring in additional resources and/or auxiliaries? I'm interested to know how they handle public safety that week.

    VPZ Crash Today

Backstory first. I'm on our local fire department. We have two stations. Station 1 is our main, and in the center of the township. Station 2 is on VPZ, because it's inside our township, and we are an ARFF department because of that. I'm in my office this morning and got paged out for an...

    What would you do?

I was fully expecting that it's normal, just sharing my thoughts. An interesting component for me is going to be watching forward to see how long until it develops into a more automatic routine. Not that I'm expecting I won't have to think about things, but the specific memories and such, I'm...

Overwhelmed by the amount of Schools

Interested in leaving the country? If living abroad is something that sounds good to you, go to China. Massive pilot shortage. Hiring tons of pilots, crazy pay. Well over $100k. Go to news.google.com, type in "China pilot shortage hiring" and feast the results. I think the original article I...

Help - Popped Nose Wheel at KHAI

Glad to hear that all went well. It brought some thoughts to mind. After being absent from here for a while and coming back, it's great to see how the community still cooperates in helping each other. Sure the bickering goes on, and it's quite entertaining. But somebody in an actual situation...

How mush time did you get this weekend???

Two hours training on Friday, two hours training this morning. Total flight time out of those four was about three hours.

    What would you do?

Got another few hours in this morning in the 172. Anyone else in the Great Lakes region have a difficult time believing it's February? I'm not one to chat about the weather often, but wow! Practiced turns, detents, climbs. The multi-tasking isn't necessarily hard, but not being used to...

    What would you do?

Thanks again for all the input, greatly appreciated! There was talk that the 206 was "maybe" a complex aircraft, nobody came out and said they knew for sure. The other guys who fly it already have complex endorsements. They were going to check on it, but I've already got the answer here...

    What would you do?

Thanks for all the input guys, I have always appreciated the weight and balance of this community. :) In regards to complex, there seems to be some confusion here on the ground on whether it is complex or not. Some believe it is, some believe it is not. For sure the HP is needed, but some think...

    What would you do?

The instructor the school paired me with has a lot of time, but I do not know how much 206 time he has. I believe he is close to 2000 hours, he's the Chief FI, and has a pretty good reputation from those who I've asked. I have not spent enough time with him for a personal opinion. And to be...

    What would you do?

Hi All, I've finally got my training going again, and I'm sure I'll finish this time. The conditions are a bit different, so I'm reaching out to the community for some input. I previously had about 6 hours or so between 150's and 172's, had to take a leave, and now I'm up and going again. We...

    Certificated vs. Certified

Going through the recent Cessna Pilot Courses, I was surprised to hear this. I actually had to look it up because it sounded so strange. Nails on a chalkboard effect. I uploaded a short clip (link below). Looks like both would be accurate and correct depending on the situation (noun vs. verb)...
