    First Audio/Video Recording Test

Hey everyone, Today I made my first attempt at capturing inflight video and audio. The suction cup camera mount seemed to vibrate a bit too much, I had it mounted on the left window. Your suggestions are appreciated! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vavxY1OXuiI

    Found An Unexpected Crosswind

Took a friend of mine up for his first flight in a light airplane today, 7B2 to KASH. I did notice the fall seems to progress faster up that way. Visibility was near unrestricted and winds aloft we're in the low 30s but it was the smoothest ride I've had in weeks.

    Is my flap indicator broken?

Hey everyone, I fly a 1967 172H which has electric flaps and you have to hold the switch until the flaps get to the desired setting. I've noticed that that indicator does not seem to work while on the ground. If I set them to what I think is 10 degrees and do a short field take off, the...

    Possible Windshear Tomorrow?

    Found An Unexpected Crosswind

I was looking at the water on the way in and noticed it seemed rather still but you'll notice the crab angle require down final. It was definitely moving from a hundred feet upwards :)

    Found An Unexpected Crosswind

That seagull scared the **** out of me as it was the first time I've encountered a bird up close while flying. Was prepared to try and evade if need be. :) As far as when the video was shot it was 10-25-14 so about a week and a half ago. Was a nice warm day.

    Possible Windshear Tomorrow?

Hey everyone, I'm planning a flight for tomorrow morning and looking at the projected winds aloft, I have a question BDL:3000 ft 3226 6000 ft 2821 BOS:3000 ft 3227 6000 ft 2925 Seems to me this will be a 30 to 40 degree wind shift between 3k and 6k which would produce windshear effects. I'm...

    Found An Unexpected Crosswind

Hey guys, Was out flying in central Connecticut last week and had my first run in with a decent crosswind. Landing on RW02 wind was 300@15G24. Any feedback would be appreciated :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wAfoeAFMgeg

    C172 chirp on landing?

The 1967 is marked in MPH and not KTS. 65-70MPH has solved all of my problems and these days I don't usually hear the chirp at all :)

Replacement David Clark Ear Seals H20-10

I got a deal on two pairs of David Clark H20-10 aviation headsets. They are not the S model and do not have ENC. The deal was 2 pairs for $200.00 but they come without ear seals and the only replacement ear seals that I can find are made by David Clark and they're close to $80.00/pair shipped...

    C172 chirp on landing?

My book says between 65 and 75 MPH so I decided to shoot for the middle and it's working well. In the video I was over the threshold at 60 MPH with flaps at 30 and didn't seem to have enough energy to flare it out. I was also just about at max gross.

    C172 chirp on landing?

Went out and shot some more takeoffs and landings today and the problem really came down to not having enough airspeed down final. I found that if I keep it to about 70 mph over the threshold, there's still enough energy to get a nice flare and bleed off the speed. Still chirps but lacks the...

    C172 chirp on landing?

    C172 chirp on landing?

I've never heard them in the warrior but that doesn't mean they didn't. I only have 125 hours TT and that's the airplane I did all of my flying in minus my whopping 7 hours in the 172H :]

    C172 chirp on landing?

I recently transitioned from a 1892 Warrior II to a 1967 Cessna 172H. No matter how slow I come down final approach, the wheels always seem to chirp on touch down. In the video below I touched down on the stall horn and still noisy. What am I missing? There is nothing more than a light crosswind...
