    Being an Extra class ham radio operator I know all about rf coupling, wiring, and VSWR however the symptoms are exhibited when no transmitting is happening at all. Even receiving a signal on COM1 causes the CDI and GS needles to go crazy.

    So it turns out that while I was cranking the trim to full aft which is required to be able to get the trim indicator out of the overhead panel, i somehow pulled one of the turnbuckles through one of the trim pulley's above the headliner. New parts should arrive tomorrow :D

    Removed the screws and was easily able to reach in and change the bulb. Now to my demise when I adjust the trim, the crank seems to jam up and there is a weird noise in the empanage when this happens. Nothing is in the way of the control cables up there and I am baffled as to what the issue...

    I am going to use the airplane for my instrument rating. Should be starting that in the next week or two. The reason I wanted to just realign the VoR indicator was that it's not worth investing the money in it when it's being replaced with a 430W In a few weeks... I tend to fly VFR by VoRs/NDBs...
