So this is what a blown nose tire feels like...

I got to experience a blown left main tire a month ago at CMA on roll out. Happened on a Sunday after thanksgiving. No one on the field to fix it and 150 miles from home. Had to take the train home, then return on the train the following day to retrieve the plane. $540 later it was fixed.

Plane crash Gillespie Field, San Diego

Quite possibly this Lear 35. The article on CBS said reports came in at 7:15. FlightAware has this “landing” at 7:14. En route from SNA.

Plane crash near AUN (Auburn, CA)

Seems like one passenger on board with major injuries. Doesn’t appear to be our infamous Golden Eagle pilot. https://fox40.com/news/local-news/placer-county-deputies-respond-to-plane-crash-in-auburn-2/amp/

PIREPS on KSAN - San Diego International…

Get the “garbage wings”. They mix all the wing sauce and put it on the wings and they are oh so good.

Approaching WHP VFR from the west

SoCal is pretty good at vectoring you where they need you to be so as long as you’re talking, you should be good.

Approaching WHP VFR from the west

My bad. Could be thinking of someone else’s video.

Approaching WHP VFR from the west

I haven’t landed there but I believe most pilots just follow the 118 east bound while on FF with SoCal and then get handed off. Wolficorn on YouTube is based at WHP. Here’s a video where he did the exact same route.

Can you briefly explain the purpose of an overhead break? What’s the reason to do it?

PA32 Saratoga down in San Diego

Just to give perspective of the area it shows the pilot had problems. I’ve flown up and down the coast numerous times. There’s not many areas to put a plane down during an emergency so the freeway is probably the safest option.

PA32 Saratoga down in San Diego

Based on the FlightAware track, it looks like whatever happened up there was quick. Possible engine failure?

PA32 Saratoga down in San Diego

Sounds like the pilot is ok, other than shaken up. One passenger of a vehicle went to the hospital with scrapes and bruises.

PA32 Saratoga down in San Diego

Looks like they took off out of MYF headed north and turned back to the airport and put the plane down on the southbound lanes of the 5. Two on board taken to the hospital. Happened at 12:06pm local.
