    3 in 90 days? That's being generous!

Delta MadDog engine failure this morning!

It's amazing how airlines come up with new ways to fly planes that have been around for decades, eh? Cuz those guys are p*ssies :D Actually if I'm going to the B gates I'll want to land on the 22s. The C Gates and give me 29. Plus the thing has a 45kt crosswind limitation, so we have a...

Delta MadDog engine failure this morning!

Y'all are overthinking it. The guy eyeballed the time. I don't, but my employer actually requests we use brakes more than reverse thrust. The carbon brakes work well when warm and reverse thrust does some wear and tear on the engines. So some bean counter sat down and figured it is cheaper...

A CAT IIIB Appriach in case you haven't seen one...

Amazing stuff. No matter how many times you do it, it's still impressive.

    Aviation nightmares?

Took off on a 13hr red eye flight with 2 pots worth of coffee for about 285 people. It was a nightmare for everyone else but me. I don't drink coffee.

    Commercial Pilot Needed

They were valid questions. No days off? On call at all times to fly? Daily rate every day whether one flies or not?

    Auto Pilot and IFR

Having flown with and without an a/p ifr, the increase in safety when using an a/p makes it a no-brainer. Nevermind the bravado posted by some, having an a/p makes life a lot easier and the flight much safer. It allows you to free up your mind from the mundane but consuming task of heading and...

Having flown the A320, when you shut off the a/p and a/t, it flies like a dream. It's an airplane, despite all the ******** you read on the internet about it. As far as autopilot usage, you damn well better know how to use it. No one wants to, nor is it safer to, hand fly for 8hrs or longer at...

He flew over the grass runway lower than planned and briefed. So low, in fact, that the Alpha Floor protection he was going to show off for the crowd was deactivated, as it should be at such a low altitude. So instead of getting full power as the plane slowed, the engines remained at idle...

    does anyone else do this????

I've driven home from the airport and, upon seeing some storms up the road a ways, attempted to turn on the wx radar...

The pilot flew a perfectly good airplane into the trees. The plane did EXACTLY what the pilot told it to do.

The bus is a very nice flying plane. It will do anything you tell it to do as long as you don't want to stall it, overspeed it, roll it, or over g it.

A post like this is painful to read. Can you flip over your certificate and show us your A320 type? You know, so we know where you're coming from regarding your opinion on the aircraft.

When was the last time you flew as PIC?

Been there, done that. It's been over 10 years, but I see no reason to take a pay cut just so I get "to be the a**hole".

Average pay for SWA $300k by 2020

Yep. Two of my favorite trips are BOM and DEL. Three of those trips a month and there is your 90-ish hours. Each trip is technically four calendar days, but really you're only gone two full ones and five hours each on the first and second day. Gone about 58hrs with 32 being in the airplane...

Average pay for SWA $300k by 2020

I was wondering that myself. As far as airline career, you can live anywhere you want. Hell, half my base commutes. Some as far away as Europe or Hawaii.

What he said. Most money for the most days off. It's hard to beat this gig. Knock on wood it will continue.

Clint Eastwood to make biopic of pilot 'Sully' Sullenberger

That armchair commando is right on. Your choices in the NYC area are runways or water. If you can't make a runway (or you think you can't), you're going for the water. When I turned on the news after hearing about it the only thing that really surprised me was the fact no one died of hypothermia...
