Pretty much a crapshoot then? Let me rephrase.. is it helpful at all to glance at the Skew-T to say something like "Oh, better stay below 7000' for smoother air today" or "Looks like it's gonna be a rodeo anywhere below 15,000, better tighten those belts."?
I've found low AIRMETs to be overly...
I have a rubber-coated magnet mount for the GoPro that seems very strong. Thinking about sticking it on the wing of a 150 but not sure I have the courage yet. Maybe I can tether it somehow.
Maybe we can repurpose a joke.. How do you get a small flight school running? Start with a large flight school.
Whatever you do, good luck and keep us posted! It would be nice to see a small-time operation like this succeed. If I was a student, I can tell you I'd prefer a 172 for a few bucks more.
There are many things that "should never" happen when we go fly, but they do, and to good pilots too. Best to learn from them instead of telling people "That should never happen to you!"
There's truth to that. A pilot with a medical has been required to report any mental illness, medication, or doctor's visits. That is some form of evaluation, at least.
The crazy thing here is, without prior coordination, there were three (3) camera angles. So just beware, if you do something even slightly questionable to other people, there's a good chance you'll be on camera. Maybe multiple cameras.
I didn't retract anything, just tried to clarify that my first post was in jest. It is an open discussion board, but an emphatic word from the AIM that it "should not be used under any condition" ought to go a long ways towards settling this.
I should have added this: ;)
Completely with you and I love your book. It was just my attempt at humor.. I couldn't stop myself when I saw the word "advise." Didn't mean to reopen the debate.

If you own the video and can point it to your original video, they'll take it down fairly quickly.
This might be a good place for you or anyone else to check out. Right near the center of totality, off most peoples' radar from what I can tell, and looks like plenty of parking (Harvard, Nebraska, former military field).
