The FBO asked me: "Why are pilots so cheap"

And the municipality is charging the FBO a monthly lease amount for that paid for piece of property. Are they supposed to eat it? In that case, the beef is with the municipality for not making the space available for self parking (which very few do).

Then you probably shouldn't have used your scarce time to come on here and refuse to answer any direct questions. A fly by to call legitimate and helpful feedback to the OP "mindless" doesn't help your cause.

    Altimeter failed IFR check

It sounds like from your posts that you're having problems finding reliable shops nearby. However, you need to have a serious conversation with these guys. When you can easily find a 3-4 day (or less) solution to sourcing the parts, being AOG for several weeks because the shop won't cooperate...

    Rotting Planes. Sad.

I agree with you. It seems the crowd that thinks "I'll fly it again" has an alternate crowd equally as large that thinks they "can make it fly again." IMO, these airplanes and their stories aren't anyone else's business.

What To Expect At Key West

Very refreshing pirep. Way too much of the "stop here and rent a car", "fees are high", "gas is high", "that'll cost an extra dollar or two" naysaying in these threads. It's an experience and your description tells exactly why we do this.

Good guessing - just missed the People's Republic of Austin. Not guaranteeing accuracy, but a quick look at the stats published on Airnav shows these above 250 ops/day: DFW 1853 IAH 1377 DAL 613 HOU 560 AUS 526 DTO 452 SAT 452 FTW 346 AFW 327 TKI 298 ELP 275 DWH 272 ADS 264...

Nope, I don't see a company doing anything wrong. Just a bunch of people who don't know what they agree to when they buy an airline ticket.

Not suggesting anything except the crapfest you'd create by asking that question on the board I referenced. It's clear by now, everyone (not specifically you or me) has their opinion on this situation and nobody is convincing anyone else to change it.

I am not an airline pilot, just a PP-ASEL, and I think United was toatally right in how they handled the bumping situation and that the physical escalation is 110% on the passenger. They probably could have handled the aftermath better - but in reality, by the time the social media masses...

I'd like to see JOhnH post the bit about United getting one of their pilots to fly the crew in their personal plane on a pro pilot board like airlinepilotforums.com The response there would be entertaining beyond belief.

VRF departure from a Class C and climbing into Class B

Specifically at KDWH, coordinate your FF through Ground. You will be told to "remain clear of Bravo until cleared in by Approach" and probably be reminded of this by Tower on your takeoff clearance. Once they hand you off to Approach, they may or may not clear you into the Bravo at some point.
