ILS auto pilot coupled approach NA

I'll humbly defer to the folks that can answer that question far better than I can. In the meantime all I can tell ya for sure is to spend some quality time learning what that chart is trying to tell you and fly that airplane like your life depended on it because it pretty much does. Have...

ILS auto pilot coupled approach NA

Take at look at the NACO plate for the approach. Upper left hand portion of the briefing strip. Autocouple NA below 1910 or something like that....voila! NOTAM. And it's not a restriction....it's a NOTAM.

ILS auto pilot coupled approach NA

The Atlanta guys are flying the ProLine airplanes now complete with the new paint scheme. Neat airplane! I'm flying that big ol' desk right now and getting home every night which is just fine with me but I do fly the Mooney regularly.

ILS auto pilot coupled approach NA

I think the ugly paint scheme was designed to make people think the work wasn't all that much fun. The new scheme is better especially the orange accents. Beer? Oh.....I like beer. Can't say too much about Palmdale but I can say a lot about KCID. My operating initials are still on the NOTAM.

ILS auto pilot coupled approach NA

Hi everyone! Yeah I don't contribute too much anymore but I do visit often. Lots of new folks with new perspectives. Auto couple NOTAMs aren't all that rare and the objective is to get them on the chart where the pilot can use them best as opposed to just in the AFD. They aren't a restriction...

ILS auto pilot coupled approach NA

At 1860 feet or so there's a slight anomaly in the glide slope that could affect an auto coupled approach. It's not an out of tolerance condition but it does force the issue of a NOTAM. 50 feet has to get added to the altitude the anomaly starts at for an aircraft on the approach. This NOTAM is...

Sept. 24th Fly In & Air Show - KAIG (WI)

We have just started to include Elcho into the whole A-M metroplex thing. Makes the Elchonians happy and we owe them money. It's now the A-M-E metroplex. Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk 2

What do you do once you land at your destination? Rent a car?

Generally the second thing I do is secure ground transport. The first thing is find the Men's room. Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk 2

    New here

It all started at MIF for me too pretty much the same way. Weekend line guy, instruction, charter, moving on to other things. Jeez that was a million years ago. Shirley, Bill and Dave S. were important players in my growth as a pilot. Lots of people came out of that operation flying everywhere...

    Ramen Noodles

Momofuko was a genius. Maybe someone can resurrect the posts we flung around after his death. Ramen is most tasty with shrimp. Lots of shrimp. Oh, broccoli too. Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk

    What is a flight check?

You rang, Sir? Yes indeed...I did that for ten years and actually till just recently. Great mission and never a dull moment. I'm in a different part of the organization now. Maybe go back someday but for now what I'm doing is very, very good.

    America's top dog breeds

I've been adopted by a BC. Amazing dog with a ton of energy and smart as a whip. Right now he's probably at home writing his blog and working on his particle theory paper. And wondering when that next piece of ham is going to fall in front of him. See ya soon Blue! Good boy! Sent from my...

    Moxie -- CANCER SUCKS!!!!

My how the rules for getting an intersection or waypoint changed in just a few years. I've made some inquiries about getting something named for Moxie and it's going to be a process. I've got some letters to write but I know who I'm writing to well enough that maybe this'll work. The biggie is...

    Moxie -- CANCER SUCKS!!!!

Ya know....nothing says thanks for everything Moxie like your own intersection or waypoint. I think MOXIE would be just perfect in the greater MKE area. Arnav isn't showing it as active and I'll see if it's in the cue tomorrow. Can't imagine a name that good isn't on a chart somewhere. We'll see.

    How to talk to non-pilots

Speak slowly and use small words? I've given up trying to convince people that flying is reasonably safe, reasonably doable by just about everyone assuming you've the means and isn't just some environmentally destructive pastime for the rich and famous. If you've got the gene...you've got the...

POA keep em or get em flying program

I'm out of flying on a daily basis by choice but am reasonably hopeful that I'll keep my hand in either with part time flying or maybe even instruction. I enjoy teaching although I'm probably best suited for someone serious about instrument flying or multiengine proficiency. I live in the...

    Things named after politicians

A good portion of Anchorage is named for Ted Stevens. Or is the town actually named Stevens with just a few places named Anchorage? I dunno.
