@yakdriver I realize the rv9 isn't a backcountry steed, but it would fulfil a mission. I initially wanted to build one, but decided that it was much easier to rent for the "visit the family" mission than it is to rent something that I can land next to a river and go fish. I'll likely take you...

The RV 9a is another I'm considering.

I looked at the the bearhawk and the rans, and TBH the fabric covering kind of intimidates me. I was leaning towards the 70 because of the sheet aluminum skin. This would be my first build, but I have plenty of sheet metal experience. What about the 750 put you off?

I'm in the still deciding on what to built phase. But leaning towards a ch750 stol. Any similar design suggestions (back county type) would be appreciated.

On commercial flights is there a certain indicator that says it is time for the pilot to turn off the light? Altitude? Distance from airport? Whenever he damn well pleases? In essence, when is a takeoff no longer a takeoff?

So logging T&Gs as landings is fine, and a note detailing night full stop would be advisable?

Semi related to the op. How do you log landings? just full stop? Full stop and T&Gs in the same box or separately?
