It has to do with the type of gearbox being installed. ULS2 refers to fixed pitch, ULS3 is for a hydraulic constant speed propeller.

Hey y’all, here’s an update on the Sling 4 TSi numbers with the 915 iS.

The Sling 4 at 9,000 ft and above will do 135-140 knots TAS on 6 GPH. It uses the Rotax 914 turbo which is my favorite engine in GA. 115hp for 5 minutes and 100hp continuous up to 16,000ft. It’s one of the nicest handling Aircraft I’ve ever flown for sure. With the 915 iS being able to deliver...

Also, don’t forget about the Sling 4. 1,100 pound empty weight with a 115 HP 914 turbo. If sure flew like an LSA with great useful load too. Granted it’s not an LSA and has a constant speed prop.

Have you looked at the Aeroprakt A22LS? Tough STOL bird with empty weights of 680 pounds and a nice flying machine.

Just to clarify, I didn’t say those turbine powered aircraft were LSA’s in the first place. I’ve yet to fly an RV-12, but I would love to someday. The Tecnam P2008 is a great cross country performer with its laminar flow airfoil giving cruise speeds of 125 KTAS burning 6 gallons an hour.

Haha I love when people like to bash LSA’s as not being “real” airplanes. Stupidest thing I’ve ever heard. I guess the SubSonex JSX-2 and BD5 jets aren’t “real” airplanes either. They must be remote control. By the way, remote control airplanes are real too. :)

Isn’t it an amazing piece of technology? Stupid fast, amazing display, thin bezel and extremely thin and lightweight. One of their best efforts yet, aside from the iPhone X.
