    D21/DTW TRACON Phone #?

I found this one online, but not sure how reliable it is as a source. Might be worth a try. 734-955-5000 Source: http://www.air-traffic-control.com/faa-atc-facilities/d21-detroit-tracon.250/

I hope they recover quickly and are OK!

Wow - so glad they were able to get themselves out. I hope all is OK. I think @eman1200 is right that it wasn't purchased that long ago...

    Colorado "Support Aviation" license plate

Oklahoma just approved one last year and they are finally mailing them out. I got mine personalized, so I'll be waiting a bit longer perhaps. All the proceeds from this plate go to support the Oklahoma Aeronautics Commission.

    Sold my plane...Now what?

Holy moly - why can't there be something like this anywhere close to me? Or, even a club to begin with? You'd think with a Class D and all the traffic here, the GA community would be thriving outside of the University traffic/operations. Nope.

    Too Much YouTube

"Position checks" reached out and grabbed me on my last flight - never had before. I will usually say that about altitude, but not position - looks like I fell victim. Same here. When my GF and I are watching TV, I can't help but point it out. I was listening to a "This American Life" podcast...

Dad Finally Flew with Me for First Time...

I purchased a FlightBox from Open Flight Solutions. The mount was made for another Stratux box, so it's not ideal; the FlightBox doesn't really fit it and, in effect, faces the "wrong" way in order to mount and have the mount clips grab the edges of it. Aside from my self-inflicted mounting...

Dad Finally Flew with Me for First Time...

This is exactly how I felt. I know my dad is no huge fan of flying (in any capacity) and has had more than one friend of his spooked out of the air during their initial training and never went back up. It was an incredible gesture on his part to fly with me. I can only hope he'd love to do it again!

    Hangar Hotel Fly-in Video Pirep.

That was a great video - and hilarious! I'll have to check out Fredricksburg sometime.

Was the lost comm code 7500 or 7600?

Wow...I'll bet the pilots were quite alarmed upon arrival, too. "Geez guys, we were just NORDO. No need for all this attention."

Dad Finally Flew with Me for First Time...

I really should have taken pics of breakfast. It was my first time at this airport and it didn't disappoint. I've never had a bigger, more filling $7 breakfast plate that I can recall. It wasn't your typical thin, two slices of bacon and Wonder Bread toast, either. Four slices of THICK bacon and...

Dad Finally Flew with Me for First Time...

Amen to treasuring it. Took my dad a while to do it and hoping my mom joins the fray soon - but, I certainly don't force the issue. It's supposed to be fun, not pressure-filled!

Dad Finally Flew with Me for First Time...

I seem to recall some seeing some guff directed to folks with regard to posting videos in the past - but might have just been the typical vocal minority of PoA curmudgeons! Thanks for the compliments - definitely special!

Convention in Denver - Airport and FBO Choice

When I was considering a flight to KAPA recently, I called both TAC Air and DJC. TAC Air told me there is a $5 "infrastructure fee", $15/night tiedown and a $15 handling fee, which is waived with 10 gal fuel purchase. $150/night for hangar. FF shows them with $4.99 self-serve and $5.95/gal...

Dad Finally Flew with Me for First Time...

I know there's plenty of dislike on here for posting of flights on YouTube and all, but I wanted to share this personally special moment with my fellow aviators on here. My dad finally was able to fly with me for some breakfast recently and it meant the world to me - and I passed the 100 hour...

    Switching to ground.

Stillwater is odd for another reason. They have the ASOS, but unlike many that broadcast minute-to-minute numbers, it only broadcasts hourly numbers when the tower is open. Tower has "to the minute" numbers they'll provide you, though. Even the tower controllers don't know why that is. As far...

Hurricane Harvey Update from Port Aransas

Excellent! We might be looking at a trip there during our boys' fall break, so I'll be sure to give you all a call soon! Happy to hear you're breaking some records!

Hurricane Harvey Update from Port Aransas

Everything looks amazing, Jay. Such an incredible display of resolve and perseverance! I haven't been to Port Aransas since I was in high school. I loved it there and would love to bring the family down at some point this year. Assuming we were looking at a 5-7 day stay, what's the best play...

    Kentucky Dam POA Fly-In Video's

Great videos! Funny thing - your channel was suggested to me on YouTube last week and I viewed a couple of your videos. Didn't realize this was you on POA (of course, I only lurk and post occasionally)! Might have to knock a few "cool points" off for digging at my Sooners a few posts above...

    State Record Ruined

We somehow got lucky in Stillwater. We were between two strong areas. Got a nice lighting show and heavy showers around 9 PM last night and then again this morning. Didn't have any of the real "sporty" stuff, though.
