How to get PAX more engaged?

Safety enhancement trick with kids: offer a buck for each new traffic they spot (in the air). That can keep the materialistic ones engaged for hours. :)

    Oregon crash

The article says, "He had obtained remote flight and ground instructor certificates". That's fairly clear, but I have never heard of it before.

    Oregon crash

Not "admitting" anything, just asking you to rephrase my question (if it's unclear) about "remote instructor certificate" based on the article: "Aletky’s commercial pilot certificate was issued in 2011, FAA records show. He had obtained remote flight and ground instructor certificates, according...

    Oregon crash

I asked "where/how can you get a remote instructor certificate". Feel free to rephrase that for me if you think that's unclear.

    Oregon crash

The article said "[h]e had obtained remote flight and ground instructor certificates, according to the agency." My question was (and still is), where and how can you get a remote instructor certificate?

    Oregon crash

Yes, I quoted that, but my question was for SkyDog who tried to answer my (still unanswered) question.

PPL solo X-country... am I allowed to plan my own route?

If you are the business owner and the company pays the fuel/oil etc., that's still "compensation" from the FAA and IRS perspective, but in this case both would approve it, IMO. In fact, the company may own the aircraft and let you fly it, with the same results. The important point is that the...

PPL solo X-country... am I allowed to plan my own route?

This. If your flying is incidental to your business you don't need a commercial rating. As long as you fly in order to get to a place where you transact your business (and back), and your compensation is not for the flying itself (though your fuel, oil and other related expenses may be...

    Rotary Wing Add-On?

Not sure about any differences in the latest PTS, but for PPL(H) my CFIs had me do lots of 180 autos, as did the DPE. So I don't think that's a real-world distinction.

    Rotary Wing Add-On?

I did the PPL(A) -> PPL(H) rotary add-on, and my understanding is that if all you want is PPL rotary, you can take the standard PPL add-on rotary course and will be issued a separate PPL certificate for it. I don't think there is any difference as far as hours or training required going from...

    What causes stalls?

I think 30 degrees allows for a tighter and more squared pattern and is more practical. But to each his/her own, I suppose.

    IR training and autopilot

Having an A/P of any kind during IR training is a distraction that you don't need. Get your rating while hand flying, and then if you have the disposable cash, go ahead and invest. In fact, if you plan on flying single pilot IFR in IMC, I'd argue that (regs aside) a good A/P is a must, not a...

    Question regarding error in altitude

Some (many?) people consider leaving good old terra firma in a single engine piston airplane (or any airplane for that matter) "insanity". So we all have our own levels of acceptable risk taking, and we all try to mitigate it in a reasonable and practical way. Some of us even rely on the...

RNAV approach question And my buddy does a good

Definitely use the GS, as it's far safer IMO. Just remember that, unlike DH/DA, regardless of the +V, MDA assumes you won't bust it, so when you get close to it, count down the feet above and be ready to pull the trigger and do the missed, if needed.

    Question regarding error in altitude

No, nobody (sane) routinely carries the aircraft logbooks in the plane (they are worth too much to risk loss or damage), and this is not a "correction card" like the compass, it's just a deviation report, which shows that your altimeter is reasonably calibrated and doesn't leak or stick...
