How many times do you correct your tail number before giving up.

I've had it happen a lot over time. Just don't ever accept your "new" tail number. Always read back your entire correct tail number to the clearance. Good controllers will advise when a similar tail number is on freq. But, always listen to all the other transmissions to be sure.

When can you claim you are a professional?

Being paid to perform hardly makes you a professional. I see it as being "top shelf" or "tier 1." As in, no other group of people working in your field is above you in performance. A lot if people may call themselves "professionals," but I hardly see them as such. I also dont see it as...

I've only been hit once.. in the head.. with a glass tonic water bottle.. that then shattered on Epps' ramp. You can bet I learned that day.

    Just finishing up my commercial...

It's not necessary, but it will most likely get you to your destination faster. I don't have mine and just got picked up at the regionals. Got pretty lucky, though (building my flight time. 50/50 split between turbine and piston)

    Study of old accidents

I've watched that Connie film more than once. I love his personal airplanes - a Navion and a freaking DC-3. lol Thanks for including the insight on the fare cost. I was always curious. I've only done a small bit of searching and have come up empty. How well were the pilots compensated when...

Pilatus PC-12 vs Beechcraft King Air 200 Which one is better?

Speaking from 100 hours in an E90 and 600 in a PC-12... if the only thing that mattered was my opinion from up front: King Air. Over the entire spectrum of options, capability, and potential: PC-12.

    Runny eggs or fried eggs

Over Medium on my burgers and with breakfast sandwiches. I also eat hard boiled eggs with hot sauce in the morning. If the cheeseburger says it comes with an egg, I'm ordering it.

    In the yellow arc

Ill get into the yellow in descent when it's smooth (I keep most of cruise power in on the way down). I slow down into the green at the slightest hint of turbulence which usually means just shy transitioning through the cloud base altitude. If its continuous moderate or has severe bumps, I'm at...

What is the likelihood that a GA pilot could.....

No, he means that there are airline pilots who are also GA pilots and therefore meet the criteria of OP's question.

Ever fly with plane overloaded? Experiences?

So, here's how I understand the story... Many years ago, someone from a major airline's management saw this discrepancy between the Fed's "standard" weight and the ever increasing size of the average American. He (or she, or xe, or "it") had someone go out to measure the actual weight of every...
