I Don't Want to Step on Any Toes...

Wow, that's a first for me... Wonder if the CFI's are being held captive by the flight school to some type of agreement that they can only work their rental aircraft? I certainly prefer doing air work (FR, IPC, etc...) in my plane. Kinda defeats to purpose by going to another plane...

Yes you can crash the pattern as long as you ask for any traffic in the area to please advise before doing so....

    IFR Personal minimums

Once you build a flight plan, hit the little icon on the top row that has a cloud in it. Cheers, Brian

    IFR Personal minimums

I want to learn the skew-t's, but I just pay Aerovie to interpret and analyze the data for me through their Vertical Weather Profile. Makes it so much easier and it's been correct 98% of the time I've flown with the data. Just another tool in the kitbag if you so choose...

Is there anyway to visually distinguish a Cessna 172 and 182?

Funny, I thought V-Tail's were easy to identify because they had bigger doors to help get that enormous ego most of their owners/pilots are carrying around out of the plane after landing.... :p Cheers, Brian

Is there anyway to visually distinguish a Cessna 172 and 182?

And this whole time I thought it was as simple as having Skylane versus Skyhawk written on the tail.... :rollercoaster: :stirpot:

    Bonanza vs. everything else?

Add the Mooney to that list as well. Don't know why folks can't figure out how to slow a plane down for landing. Guess they figure coming in faster will keep them from suddenly falling out of the sky.... Can't kill all the OWT's out there... :sigh: Cheers, Brian

How To Get a Job at an FBO

That may be part of the problem. Most FBO's my son has tried to catch on with while still in school are looking for full-time help, meaning they don't want to be under a restricted schedule given by said student. They didn't want part-time help either. Not saying that's the case, but it could...

    Route to Reno

I agree with those saying stay in the central valley and then cross the Sierras along the I-80 corridor. I did this route from Reno to Cable (KCCB) back in August. Routing was KRNO -> KTRK -> KBLU -> KAUN -> KWHP -> KCCB Just pay close attention to the weather forecasts as we had snow...

How much flying is too much flying?

I've done 8.3 before and that was a long day going westbound with light chop the entire second half of the trip over WY, UT, and NV. Might see if I can tackle Reno to Richmond at the end of June if the weather looks good and the winds are favorable. Otherwise it will be a two day trip (or...

    Over the Clouds

I learned a valuable lesson early on when I started flying IFR. Don't leave your sunglasses in the car....kinda like getting up in the middle of the night and turning the bathroom light on... Some of my favorites: Playing guess the animal.... These are the days you don't...

    [NA] Hybrid Vehicle Parts

Thanks! Our Civic Hybrid is coming up on it's 10 year mark this summer. Not sure how long the big batteries are supposed to last, but good to know there are other sources now besides the OEM.

what do ya'll think about this?

Well, you could pony up for this one with only 146 hours on the engine for $199K....sometimes you just have to ask what the hell were they thinking... ;) http://www.controller.com/listings/aircraft/for-sale/1343271/1976-cessna-172m-skyhawk Cheers, Brian

Need multi engine time - How did you build your multi hrs?

Yes, they are on the home page and it takes a couple of drop down menus to get to it from the main header. I've been trying to find a place to knock out my ME commercial add on with no luck. Wish they were closer. I did find another school in Boise, but that would include a weekend and...
