1st class medical with broken hand

Interesting. Still think it's a crap shoot anyway since your health can change as soon as you walk out the door. :fcross:

1st class medical with broken hand

Why does he need a 1st Class Medical to begin college?

Need a sample FAA bill of sale

Didn't the FAA tell you specifically why it was rejected or did you get a generic notice? Never had one rejected, so curious what they sent back to you. Cheers, Brian

    Is complex time important?

I've talked to numerous recruiters from the regional's and they are hurting for qualified pilots now and will be for the foreseeable future. Just like Jordan said, 1500 or fairly close by time you get to ATP-CTP and a medically qualified heartbeat (i.e. 1st Class Medical in hand). I've seen...

    “Affordable” Twins?

I can't haul as much (#1300 useful), but we travel light, so I'm good with what I have. Would have loved a C310, but got tired of looking for a decent copy that wasn't priced like it was made of gold. This one dropped in my lap at a very good price and no surprises so far. Everything works...

    “Affordable” Twins?

Tim, Which Aerostar did you have and what do think would be the maintenance cost difference between the pressurized and unpressurized versions? I'm assuming they both burn about the same fuel. Always wondered what the additional cost for upkeep was on pressurized birds. Thanks, Brian

    “Affordable” Twins?

Oh, I totally agree. I got really lucky in finding my Travel Air. I looked for almost 3 years and it took a friend transferring outside the country for 5 years to finally get one (it might go back to him when he gets back....maybe...;)). I really can't believe how much the Baron's have gone...

    6 Seat Rental?

If you join Beechtalk.com and do a quick intro with what you are looking at doing, you might be able to find an owner that is close by that would be happy to give you a ride in their A36 or B36TC. I'd imagine the other owner specific groups would be able to do the same. Would be a lot cheaper...

    Remember when...

The shop I used in Virginia is now scheduling for Mar/Apr of 2020 - he didn't raise his prices, so maybe that's an anomaly. He's booked solid and even if he wanted to expand, he can't find qualified folks to hire....I just got mine done last week and even that was scheduled back in February...

    Six Seat Single?

James, I use Air Power, Inc to get a feel for the cost of an overhauled, factory rebuilt, and new engine. Add about 10-15% to those prices to account for the R&R by the shop or mechanic doing the engine pull and install. http://www.airpowerinc.com/ TBO is not mandatory in the part 91...

    “Affordable” Twins?

That entirely depends on the type of twin you buy. ;) Brian

    “Affordable” Twins?

...or two...;) https://www.pilotsofamerica.com/community/threads/inexpensive-twin.118541/ In your area, you'll need the bigger engines in my opinion to get the performance you want. I can overhaul both of my O360's for about the same cost as the IO520 in my previous Bonanza, so that defines...

Can I decide where I’m based out of?

Here you go. Swayne does an excellent job with his videos. He's documented the commuting vs inbase living, reserve vs line holders, and a few other things while getting started with Envoy. His past videos are pretty good as well. Brian

    Just wow

Posted first on AOPA by a member over there. Jump to 22:08 for the first call. http://archive-server.liveatc.net/kb...2019-1500Z.mp3 Arrow pilot never asked for the help and he sounded pretty calm to me considering the issue he was having. Brian

    People say the dumbest stuff

While we're at it, why do people feel the need to have personal conversations on guard? Here it all the time, especially when I'm over or near western Virginia and West Virginia.... Brian

Can I really afford a Bonanza / Debonair??

No, the ruddervaters are not a wear item or service life restricted. Yes, the biggest issue for the RV's is corrosion and you're spot on for how to prevent it and avoid the problem. Just wish there was a way to figure out how well past owners treated an aircraft. Cheers, Brian

    VA airport recommendations

Bummer that KMTV is supposed to be closed when you fly next week... :( I use this website a lot to find find fields with restaurants either close by or on the field. Usually pretty accurate, but check ahead of time to confirm hours, etc... http://www.fly2lunch.com/ Cheers, Brian

Newbie to aviation- best track to corporate pilot?

My advice besides what has already been hashed out above (especially @Salty ), get a degree in something you're interested in while you're working on your ratings and flight time. It'll give you something to fall back on if your health should fail down the road and ground you permanently...
