The Dynon certified equipment looks great at great price point. I just wonder how long it will take until the STC list includes most (meaning mine :D) planes, and there are enough approved installation sites that it can actually be installed in a somewhat timely fashion. I'm guessing 5 years...

Any ideas? I cleaned the window and suction cups well. Water and saliva didn't do it. I've heard vaseline can be used. Was also considering trying chap stick. I wonder if the cold OAT has something to do with it, stiffen the plastic in the suction cup. Anyone have other ideas? Thanks.

I don't believe AVEMCO offers CSL policies. That's a deal killer for me.

I find the Sferics devices are a good complement to ADS-B and XM weather. It can show the azimuth to the storm that you see on XM/ADS-B to where they actually are in real time. It is a tool to then decide how to best circumnavigate the storms. It is not a safe way to penetrate areas of storms...

Some follow up. I decided to go with the AOPA course. I was happy with it. Reasonably informative and pretty painless.
