Have a few hundred hours in an M-model (78'). Great plane! I've been told by a current owner of the same model, the gear door mod will cost about 5kts in cruise. The one I flew had original doors and true'd out at 165, and that's with a Robertson STOL kit on it. The kit was awsome. Very truckie...
Isn't the Cessna TTx suppose to be a direct competitor of the Cirrus, all be it a 'me too' product line that they bought the rights of the airframe, then put the ginormous twin turbo'd 550 in it just like Cirrus? Out of all of Cessna's selling numbers, wonder how many TTx's they sold last year...
Think everyone hits it pretty good, Cirrus came in with a new 'product consept' while Mooney (Cessna & Piper for that matter) are still basically the same airframes they've always produced. Cirrus did build an airframe around a big-bore engine that pushes through the air very fast. So what did...
I'll second the vote for Indy. It really has alot to offer, and just a couple of hours from Cinnci, or Louisville. Between Lilly and Cummins, if your background is science or engineering, they are always looking for quality people. While I am also in 'transition' looking for the next career...
In decent for the T-Arrow, I manage RPM and MP (in that order) to hold right at the edge of the green to touching yellow arc on the way down. In all the hours, never really considered or tried to fly at the yellow arc in straight and level, while having full MP range available.
Thinking I'm going to hold on to my 3rd Class, no issues, see my regular Doc between the visit to the AME.
Basic Med Con's...? can't fly to the Islands, Mexico, or Canada. Only been to the Islands once, but hate to limit myself for the future.
I haven't read 'new' plane specs in a while, but improved fuel delivery & balance (read spider and rails) and GAMI injectors are probably stock items on today's Cirrus and Cessna TTX and Mooney? to almost be foolproof temp management when operating LOP -- for the reason they put it in the POH.
The G5 w/o heading bug... to hand fly? Not for me if you want to frequently fly IFR to minimums. Sure I can, but to manage work load OTTO needs to help fly. Why would they even offer a product that wouldn't. I'm in the boat of not having a WAAS GPS, so like others have said, I'm sitting back and...
I'd be more concerned if there were signs of smoking rivits in the oil canning area. Now, the seller can clean that up pretty good where you couldn't visually see that, for the reason of internal wing inspection.
