    Engine Stutter on Approach

Could be the mixture knob, could be a dozen things. Go fly after fueling, set up for the approach similar to how you were yesterday and see if it happens again. Not likely, though. I had a mag give a hiccup a few times (that I ignored over the course of several flights), until the right side...

What airplane is overall better Bonanzas or Mooneys

Speed is a relative thing that everyone will has different views on, but it gets a little blurry at 145kts and over. Think in terms of % difference. Then look at the clock for a 450 leg. If the difference is over 30 mins, it may have an appeal, but anything less is nearly considered a draw in my...

    Oxymiser Cannulas

I have Aerox system with a little different approach: https://aerox.com/product/conserving-cannula-cc-rev-a Have always put the headset on first, then draped the hose over and around the back of the headsets. Still gives room for altitude/flow meter on the side.

    Looking to Buy (Again)...Recommendations?

I fly conservatively at 65% power. 140kts 6-10,000 ft, 145kts 10-13,000 ft, and about 150kts in the mid-teens - all depending on OAT. Think the 182 is slightly ahead for useful load full of fuel, and pretty comp for speed below the teens. All taperd wing Arrows will hold 72 gal. and mine burns...

    Looking to Buy (Again)...Recommendations?

You mentioned possibly Turbo Arrow. Didn't see what your typical x-country mission looked like (distance), or what part of the country. Being a flat-lander myself, the turbo comes in handy to get over WX or at least to keep me in visual view of WX when not flying the iPad or Stormscope. From a...

Solar eclips - aka: the end as we know it...

Been seeing some hype about flying to airports that'll be in the direct line of the full solar eclips in a couple of weeks. https://eclipse2017.nasa.gov/eclipse-maps Carbondale looks like the closest to me, thats putting on a pretty big splash for the event. Any others looking to make a day...

    Prop surge on PA28R-201 Arrow?

No audible, check the tach cable first. Replaced mine years back when the needle started to drift. Wound up being freyed near drive end. You can pull the cable completely out of shield to inspect. Might also check how the linkage is on prop lever to governor. If no joy, then as others suggested...

Exposing loved ones to the risks associated with GA

Exactly how I got into flying. My wife and I have been together since Buck was a calf, and shortly after we were married, in the spring of that year I got the itch of wanting to get back into riding as we did back in our school days. Well, when I mentioned it to her as she looked at our first...

    Turbo Diesel Skyhawk Certified

True for any turbo, but just hearing about the cost of the diesel TBR vs TBO, not sure I understand how anyone could justify? $12 per hour additional engine amort versus overhaul cost. You can pay for alot of 100LL over JetA... until AvGas goes away, I guess.

    Turbo Diesel Skyhawk Certified

Any guess to the cost of those components, then what would be the cost at TBR? Begs the question of how many Thielert's are out there (mostly in Europe)?

Step up from NA 182 to P210?

Use to drool over Richard Collins' 210. With so many equipment options out there, easy to see $150k spread from low to high price on Controller.com STOL, intercooled, no boots just hot prop and plate, think TBO on that engine is 1600? Doesn't even get to the panel (Cessna auto pilot, picture...

Step up from NA 182 to P210?

You really need to look at how altitude and the favorable winds work. I fly a turbo, but would say that for at least 50% of the time I'm below 10,000 feet b/c of winds. The P210 is a fantastic machine, but I second the T210 option with 02 from a practicality standpoint. FIKI would be more on the...
