    Washing a plane recommendations

I guess I'm becoming a guru on this. The bonanza is in a hangar and there is no water. So... Get some empty spray bottles from a home store. This will be the primary mud and grime remover. Add in lots of microfiber rags. Here is the shopping list- if painted: - spray bottles - gallon...

The Beech Electric prop - the first one was WOODEN!

I knew it has a 100 hour AD and it didn't take Beech long to find a replacement for the blades. But I didn't know it was a blade retention problem- that would get your attention.

That is why the airplane has curtains! (Didn't take long to figure that one out one sunny day.) I'm going through about the same amount of sunscreen as polish. I never said I was very smart.

Looking for advice on a first plane

Oh Lordy- another thread that will likely go 500 posts or more. Best option is to take a ride in a few. You will develop a feel for what you like. Unlike LSAs, the certified aircraft in this price range WILL: - have warts - will be 50 years old or more - and will likely be modified from...

The Beech Electric prop - the first one was WOODEN!

The serviceable one isn't for sale, and I would probably shoot at anyone trying to touch it ... Let me look at my service manual to be sure my red-tagged hub will accept those blades and compare to my partial "spare prop". If it looks promising I'll shoot a pic and send it over the weekend. Let...

The Beech Electric prop - the first one was WOODEN!

Just wish I could get a carbon fiber one to hang on an A35.... I guess someday I'll just have to buy a modern airplane ....

    Longest dirt strip

Mine isn't terribly interesting: I've been asking for a while if there are any dirt (forget about grass) strips near where my mom lives in SW Kansas. Just as I got a lead on one - it happened. The strip is pretty much a road in the middle of nowhere. Went to call the farmer that owned the land -...

The Beech Electric prop - the first one was WOODEN!

I have a spare serviceable hub. (And a red-tagged hub.) But I don't have anyone I know who might legally build a prop from these blades. You might try one of the following: - call one of the prop shops that still works on these props to see if they know someone that might want these blades -...

The Beech Electric prop - the first one was WOODEN!

Just a WAG here: - if the prop is not airworthy - then it would be for display only and might be worth (guessing) $500 or so. - if the prop is or can be made "airworthy", then you might get some weirdo like myself interested and the price goes up - but not sure by how much The wooden ones...

What airplane is overall better Bonanzas or Mooneys

Not sure I could call a mooney or a Bonanza a "Buick" (or brick as the iPhone keeps correcting me). From the first 35 on, the V tails are (if nothing else) a work of art.
