    Aviation headsets

Don't have Zulus, but I have a few low end headsets made by Lightspeed (V1-ANR). Even though they are low end, the service has been great. Can't beat Lightspeed service.

    New vehicle, what to get?

Well you obviously don't have enough opinions thrown out here yet...I bought the Volvo XC60 last year. It is a very comfy ride with all the doodads. It has serious balls when you put the hammer down too. I got it certified preowned, and everything is covered to 100000 miles. They even...

    Question on runway turn off

Thanks. I feel stupid, but I'll get it right next time!

Anyone have experience flying into Grand Geneva?

I am meeting up with some friends near Lake Geneva, WI next week, and Grand Geneva (C02) is the closest airport to where I will be. It doesn't look like it is used very much, and all the info I can find on it is for people staying at the resort. I was wondering what the field and tie down...

    Question on runway turn off

I don't know if I handled the end of my last flight correctly or not. After landing at my class C home field (CID), the tower did not come back with instructions of where to turn off and whether or not to switch to ground. I did my PPL training at CID, and I was under the impression that you...

    Rent Vs. Buy

I think that is a good plan. I was in the same boat as you last fall. Recently got my PPL, and tired of flying the POS rental planes for significant hourly rates while being restricted on flying them anywhere for extended periods of time. All of a sudden I was in the right place at the right...

CFI's: Would You Advise Your Student to Fly with a Broken Attitude Indicator?

The AI broke on the rental I was training on about a month before my checkride. It took the shop forever to get it fixed. I ended up taking the checkride without it. The examiner was impressed with my steep turns :).

    "2" Close calls today

During one of my student solo cross countries, I had to dodge something I thought was a tethered balloon. It looked like a long green ribbon, and I thought it could be identifying a tether. It scared the **** out of me. Once I landed and talked to my instructor, I determined it was a corn...

    Cessna 150 - 1/10 Share - Good Deal?

Seems pretty steep to me. I bought 1/9 of a 1975 Arrow for $3700. The engine has less than 200 hrs on it and the reserve is over $10k. I do live in Iowa, so maybe prices are lower than where you are.
