    Career help.

This is the list that my A&P school used, not much different than I went. After I finished, most places I looked at had similar starting lists. Most places outside of small GA shops will provide specialty tools, especially stuff like torque wrenches or specific airframe or engine tools.

    Just dandy

All the airports shut down, of course. No more flights of anything anywhere.

    Critique my avionics choices.

I’d rather keep the KX-155 as your second navcomm, if you weren’t buying a new second one. Keep the used radio you know over the one you don’t. Are you getting a new autopilot?

    Another iPad mini rumor

Never trust any tech company’s rumors until the product is shipping. Learned that ages ago with the first company I worked with after college. Especially the rumors that said it was fine and there was no issue with solvency.

    Another iPad mini rumor

So, use an Ouija board for that?

Purchase Cessna 150 or Cherokee 140?

Trying to find a decent Cub under $25k is a bit of a trick. I’ve seen some serviceable Aeronca Champs at or below that though. Though neither would do very well in Florida tied down outside.

A new way to almost die in an airplane ...

It’s not shipping dry ice, but rather temperature sensitive stuff, mostly food and medical supplies (prescription drugs). Worked with a small shipping company years ago in the Midwest and one of the precautions when carrying these packages was to make certain the aft vents were clear and open.

(RIP) George H W Bush Passes away (Navy Pilot?)

Wouldn’t mind a model of that train to keep my Phantoms and 747s company. I find it rather interesting that we had a run of presidents, from Kennedy to Bush senior, with the exception of Reagan, that were Navy veterans.

    Aircraft black Friday sales-Whatcha Got....

Got mine Black Friday last year from a long time eBay seller. Two $100 cards for $70 each. They emailed the codes and I put them in my iTunes account and renewed ForeFlight. The same offer was online last year from quite a few retailers.

    Aircraft black Friday sales-Whatcha Got....

Not specifically aviation sellers, but I'll pick up discounted iTunes gift cards to use on Foreflight.

I have a Garmin 480 that used to populate a Garmin 696 with a flight plan.

Garmin did release the installation manual for the 480, the info you need is in section 3. Accessing the serial settings takes a bit of effort and isn’t likely something a casual button pushing would do. If it worked okay before, but not now, it kinda smells like a bad connection.

I have a Garmin 480 that used to populate a Garmin 696 with a flight plan.

All 480s are WAAS, it’s just the setting for the output that needs to be aviation out to talk with non WAAS devices.

    Another T-38 down... :(

If visiting a grave of a fighter pilot, you leave a nickel as a sign of respect. Came from a Korean War song.

    Help with wiring kx165/76A/Audio panel

You don't need an intercom if you just want to talk on the radio and not your passengers. Depending on your passengers, that may be a positive. If you want to talk with your passengers while keeping the ability to use the radio you need the intercom too.

    Kitty O'Neil passed

She was an Olympic class high diver who got into hang gliding, skydiving, and racing because diving was too tame. She also was Linda Carter’s stunt double on Wonder Woman.

Price Check On A Garmin GTX 335 Install

Yeah, you're just not going to get a transponder installed in 5 hours. My hangar neighbor had a 335 installed and the ARC ADF removed for $5,100 in his 172. I think that the belly antenna is still there though, so they wouldn't have to do the patch on the belly.

I hope you’re turning in your batteries for the core charge. If you are, the batteries are being recycled.

GNS 480 (CNX 80) End of Service Life

I know someone who has a 182 with a 480 and GTX-345. They work great together.
