Looks like I will have to be switching flight schools prior to completion of my check ride. I am leaving in less than a month, and have not been endorsed for a checkride yet. The weather here has been beyond terrible. Luckily, I have a lot of time in January off.. I will use that time to get...
This thread has convinced me to continue using fltplngo instead of shelling out money for Foreflight.. just can’t justify the huge price tag of Foreflight. Love FltPlan.com too.. got my weight and balance figured out perfectly. Just wish the nav logs it produces were a little more visually...
You're right Mark- my apologies. Yes- Les Abend. I always forget about his columns to be honest with you. They are such a waste of potential. I mean, here is a guy who is currently senior in the industry flying the line. So many great discussions about the industry he could talk about. Even just...

That's a great perspective, Velocity. Where I am based at KART, there is a huge amount of MTR's, MOAs and restricted areas. I've never flown through them, but I'd be nervous to without talking to somebody- even just the folks over at KGTB.
Check out this article from Martha King about military airspace- I think it is a pretty good read:

Same thing happens with my wife too. I always tell her that the NTSB report tends to reveal facts about the accident that family members/the media likely did not know about. This does little to assuage her, though.
Constantly getting hounded about life insurance too.
