So, student pilots.. Who are we and where do we stand?

Took my wife along with us on my lesson today. She had a blast and was a real trooper. She was pretty nervous starting out, but did fine. Only screamed a couple of times (way less than I expected). Once doing steep turns when I came back around and hit my own wake, forgot to warn her about...

Cell phone use in the air

My phone rings at altitude in the plane. I get the notifications on my Apple Watch all the time. Calls, texts, emails. I don’t answer or respond though, too busy. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

So, student pilots.. Who are we and where do we stand?

In hindsight I believe you are correct. I think I was fixated on the runway close-in instead of starting to shift my view down the runway. THanks for the reminder!

So, student pilots.. Who are we and where do we stand?

I gotta stop bouncing my landings. Took 2 weeks off due to vacation time. Came back and last week I was SUPER rusty. Was to do my second solo sign off, but my landings were crap. Planned to do the second solo this week instead. First landing was perfect. Second was rough, third I bounced it 3...

    Let's play chicken!

Btw, I guess these guys were passing through and not sticking around at the base. They were marshaled over to the FBO near the flight school. Saw the pilots inside sitting and drinking coffee. The FLIR side where the external tank would go seems to be there designated coat rack. All 4 had...

Houston Hobby closed through Wed. Due to Flooding

basements and sub-basements of buildings does not equal the city being below sea level, that's just plain false. And yes, I'm from Houston, grew up in Humble and Houston, and still have a ton of friends and family there dealing with this currently.

So, student pilots.. Who are we and where do we stand?

Lesson today introduced short field and soft field landings/take-offs. Pretty cool stuff learning new things again. Also while in the pattern, tower had us do some short approaches. First one my CFI did to show me then I did the other two that came up. Lots of fun.

Well, since I'm in training still and live in the desert, I don't get to fly in the Bahamas on a regular basis to see all that beautiful scenery, for one thing. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    Why is Thread Locked

I see the problem. You post random scenarios in short hand and expect people to read between the lines. The one with the prostitute, you never actually posed your question, all statements. How is one supposed to answer that which isn't asked??

So, student pilots.. Who are we and where do we stand?

I can believe it. The flight school I'm at has 3 Cessna 172's and I've been in all three. They each fly slightly differently. 2 are 172N's and 1 is a 172M. One of the 172N's is 180hp, one is 160hp. All three have different avionics and panel layouts, and the flaps are all different. I'm telling...

Something you might consider with your next CFI is a clear conversation about your expectations in the front end. I did this with the flight school owner and the CFi's I've been with. I told them I have no aspirations of being a Boeing pilot or anything of the sort. This is a hobby for me. And...

I have a LOT wrong with what he's doing in your description. #1 being he won't give you your log book until you settle the bill. That's yours, not his. Also, the $1500 up front and you better be ready to fly independently by 15 hours? THen another bill for $850...he seems like a clown. Agreed...
