Jesus, do you just like arguing for arguing's sake? The guy didn't ask you if it was a good idea or worth his time and effort.

    frustrated.. please advise!!

Stop worrying so much and so thinking about it so much. I agree with possum. It sounds like your WAY WAY over thinking it. Relax! Enjoy it! Flying is fun! When you drive do you worry about exactly where the wheels are or do you just instinctively put them in the lane? Similarly with flying...

Next time I'm at the airport I'll go check it out. I won't be paying for flight time at those rates though! Geez. Maybe just stick my head in and see if I can sit in one.

From what I understand, the demo flights are to people with reservations or those who are doing flight training with them, not media folks. If you go to their website and look under "Flight Center" you can see what they're offering. I can ask next time I'm there if they would let me pay for a...

They made one of their new bases KTPF (Peter O Knight) at the airport I'm taking lessons out of. They've been doing a lot of flying around here. They look like a duck out of water on the taxiway though. I think they've got three of them here. I know I've seen two at least. They seem nice, I...

    How to buy a car?

Recently my wife and I found that new was actually cheaper than recently used when financing a purchase. Primarily because of incentive rates offered on new vehicles. We keep vehicles until they die so new doesn't generally hurt us on depreciation as it does on if we were to sell at 4 or 5 years.

1/5th Share of 1967 Cessna C-150 in Kansas City Area - FLY CHEAP !!

I would love to jump on this. But I don't think commuting from Tampa makes sense to fly for $35/ hr

So, student pilots.. Who are we and where do we stand?

Finished up my first solo cross country the other day. I initially planned to fly from KTPF (Peter O Knight) to KINF (Inverness) and did a full flight plan including checking weather, wind correction and fuel calculations, etc... Only to check the NOTAMs to find out that KNIF was NOTAMed closed...

How to lose a customer, car dealership edition...

Love my Focus ST! And ordered it using the X plan with exactly the options I wanted. I probably could have negotiated a slightly better deal but avoiding all the BS was worth it.

So, student pilots.. Who are we and where do we stand?

Monday I did a short solo flight to refresh a little because it had been a while since I'd flown. Just did a little practice slow flight, steep turns, S turn, turns around a point, and stalls. 1.1 hours for 23.9 total Yesterday I did the progress check with another instructor to check that I'm...

    Power transmission question???

This is the correct answer. I recently completed the construction of a relatively small powerline. 69,000 volt line that ran approx. 20 miles. We required power factor correction at the end of the line to provide proper VAR support to prevent voltage drops. Our main problem was inductive load...

So, student pilots.. Who are we and where do we stand?

I really enjoy TPF, it's an amazing airport with all runways having approaches over the water but CLW is nice too. Probably better services at KTPF as it's a bigger airport. I haven't flown to CLW but have driven by it and flown over it. Where are you staying, how long, and what are you doing...

So, student pilots.. Who are we and where do we stand?

Between work, maintenance, and family stuff it's been hard to get some free time to schedule a lesson. Finally just decided to take a half day at work and go for my second cross country. Planned it for KTPF (Peter O Knight) to X06 (Arcadia). Not much to say about the flight itself, everything...

Text of the Bill being sent to the President

In most states, a person cannot waive liability for negligence or malpractice only for inherit risks in an event. Basically if I go sky diving and the re-packer of the chute negligently repacked and I get hurt; then I can sue regardless of any waiver I signed. However, if I twist my ankle upon...

So, student pilots.. Who are we and where do we stand?

We definitely tried the Alt switch during the run up after seeing that it was indicating low. It was just around 0 amps. Hard to tell whether it was positive or negative. It was just hard to tell with the vibrations causing the needle to vibrate if it made any difference or not. TIS, if that's...

So, student pilots.. Who are we and where do we stand?

Second lesson happened today, it was the first cross country for me. I spent a lot of time planning a flight from Peter O Knight (KTPF) to Inverness (KINF) only to lose the nav log. O well, good practice to redo it especially as the weather would be totally different. Redid the plan last...

So, student pilots.. Who are we and where do we stand?

Another twofer update in this post... First one was about a week and a half ago, my instructor was out of town so it was too be a solo practice day. The winds were gusty with a lot of weather in the area so rather than go to the practice area I decided to just stay in the pattern and do some...

    Hurricane Matthew aftermath questions

A lot of this is correct. I don't work for the local utility but I do work for the largest power consumer and largest power generator next to the utilities in the state of Florida. We are very familiar with their storm recovery efforts. The crews must get mandatory safety training from the...

    For the FL pilots

Depends on the strength of the hurricane and where is making landfall. Cat 1 or 2 we just party at my house. I'm inland and above sea level far enough that flooding is not a concern. Winds aren't too much higher than the gusts in a bad thunderstorm. Cat 3, 4, or 5 then I'm getting the f out of...
