Dumbest thing you've done in your hangar (AKA Hangar Rash)

Happened when I was 17 and working at a maintenance shop. I was stripping the interior out of a Bonanza for an annual and climbed out on the wing carrying a seat right as a very pretty girl my age walked into the hangar. Went to climb off the wing while still carrying the seat and looking in her...

    Corrupt my wish

Granted, you skip lunch, but the dinner budget's a little dry, so you end up with a double serving of some value priced pickled pigs feet. I wish they'd open up overtime at work again, between college and flying I'm starting to run outta money for ramen.

    Bulk, New Car Engines?

Fair enough, guess I got the wrong idea about what they were somewhere along the line.

    Bulk, New Car Engines?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't a crate motor still a brand new aftermarket engine? Not to push for details, but I don't think we've got enough info about the intended use of the engine to make solid recommendations.

    The Jay by AOPA

Eh, guess I'm more a fan of having more control over your setup when it comes to simming. It will be cheaper to purchase everything individually instead of the AOPA package, too. Part of the cost seems to be for the Prepar3d license in place of FSX, when they're both essentially the same sim. I...

    The Jay by AOPA

Depends on the scenario; it's pretty easy in FSX to set up a saved scenario for about any situation you could ask for. I can't see that adding to the price, unless they're adding features to Prepar3d for the scenarios.

    Bulk, New Car Engines?

Agreed, I can understand not releasing any details of your project, but I'm pretty curious too, like to hear about it when it's possible to put some more info out. Good luck with whatever it is, though.

    The Jay by AOPA

Looks like they're basically marketing Prepar3d with a yoke and throttle? Stock FSX with your own choice of stick, Track IR, and some addons would probably be cheaper, with the same simulation fidelity (at work, so can't see the actual price). IIRC Prepar3d had a few improvements over FSX stock...

Rise & Shine Boys & Girls!

Definitely, pretty much have to factor the celebratory suds into my cost per hour

    Bulk, New Car Engines?

Yeah, but with sufficient use of carbon fiber and dietary restrictions for passengers, they just might work.

    Bulk, New Car Engines?

Cheap, reliable, available in bulk, and outperforms 80% of the Hyundai range. http://www.osengines.com/engines-car/index.html

    3AU - Augusta, KS

Nice, hadn't heard about the new taxiway. I'll have to check out the flying club when I get back. When I was last there the club was made up of a couple 172's/182's that we'd work on pretty regularly, can't recall any tail numbers to check if they're still based there, though. Still kick myself...

    3AU - Augusta, KS

Know what you mean, I worked at Augusta Aircraft Maintenance at the north end of the field from 2006-2008, and besides a couple of local pilots who'd fly pretty regularly there never was much traffic. I'd hoped it had picked up a little since I've been gone, since they picked up a new airport...
