Hmmm, wing span about 35 feet. 3 foot wing tip separation is 38 feet center of fuselage to center of fuselage. 6 foot prop is still 35 feet from prop tip to wing tip.

Al Mooney was 6' 4". I think he designed airplanes that he would fit into. :D

    Upholstery / interior re-do’s. Cost?

Mine would have been faster is the plane was in the shop doing the interior. But I combined with avionics upgrade, so since my plane wasn't taking up space, my job was not a priority.

    Swift 100R vs 100LL

However, it is open to be being made at more refineries. So more competition. And the margin on AVGAS is higher than MOGAS, so possibility that it could be very close to the same. And, right now, 100LL varies from about $4.20 to over $11 per gallon. So a lot of wiggle room.

That is part of it. It is also new, some start up costs. TEL has been used for many years because it is very cheap for the octane boost.

Why didn't they fly the plane back to the runway?

YOU were the one quoting prices. It always makes things much cheaper when you consider the labor to be FREE.

The BIG driver in price of insurance is the hull value. The annual cost is a direct percentage of that.

    Mooneys..M20

There are seldom minor things in aircraft. So a $1000 deductible is not going to reduce claims. And I would bet that most owners don't claim the small things anyway, so it works like a deductible. :D

    Swift 100R vs 100LL

How can you know the price before it is made and available. G100UL costs $1 per gallon more at the refinery than 100LL. There is 1.3 million gallons of G100UL ready to ship.

How much CO is too much?

One thing, running LOP reduces the production of CO in the engine. :)

A lot of jets use DME/DME or DME/DME/DME for position. DME stations are small, don't require the real estate of a VOR.

Why didn't they fly the plane back to the runway?

So your time is worth NOTHING? How much do you or did you earn when working????? Oh, and remember, his cost included parts.

Owner Assisted Annuals are Now Outlawed unless Supervised 100%.

This was asked by a FSDO Manager, not a random pilot. Probably due to some shop in his area using remote supervision. I don't see this as being a big deal. I don't know of any mechanics supervision or inspections being done using FaceTime or similar.
