Exactly. My CFI expired in about 2001 or 2002. And all I need is a check ride. With probably add MEI. Why take a check ride and not get a new rating??? :D

Turbo normalizing does not stress the engine any more than flying at sea level. It is limited to 30 inches manifold pressure.

I would call Garmin about switching your subscription to the new unit. They may credit you with remaining on the old subscription. Of, if the price is the same, just change the unit ID info.
