That is a VERy good price.
In the Mooney world, the high end is around $24,000 all in for an Aero Comfort full interior. My local FBO quoted me $12,000 for an Airtex interior, installed and included repairing and painting the interior plastic.
I ended up with a local aircraft interior shop...
That is not going to happen, because the FAA doesn't have the authority to do that. And the type certificates call for ASTM 910 fuel, which requires it to contain lead.
Even Swift is going STC. But they also say it won't work in all the fleet anyway. Not very drop in.
Also, interested...
It is not just about being nice when you call, it is how they handle your claims. Also, with USAA, as a member organization I get a couple of refunds most years. One as a member and one for being an old member. :)
Longest non-stop I have done was KBJC back to NE Maryland. 1334 miles direct. According to Flight Aware 7 hours 3 minutes from take off to touchdown. But I had some nice tailwinds. Hit 229 knot GS at one point.
You mean you land, taxi, park, unload, hit the rest room, then cancel when approach calls the FBO to see if you are on the ground??????? And yes, I have seen this done.
Cancelling IFR AS SOON AS IT IS SAFE TO DO SO is good etiquette.
The T-38 also used a huffer.
The ground crew fired it up while you were strapping in. Aircraft controlled the air.
Push start button (fires ignitors and turns on air)
At some RPM (maybe 15%) you put the throttle in idle.
Once you start both engines, the ground crew automatically disconnects...
I paid a mechanic very experienced with the make I was looking into. Saved me twice. Overall, reviewing 4 sets of logs, total cost was about the cost of filling the tanks for near empty once.
