How did you decide how much plane to afford?

I don't understand why you have hookers and blow listed AFTER bills are paid. Aren't they supposed to be clumped in there with your monthly expenses?

    oil viscosity recommendation

I live in central GA, and the local shop sells W100. IIRC, the low end is 40 degrees F. Probably doesn't matter, but I started using 15w50 a few years back.

recommendation for new panel in Georgia

I'm at the point where I need to get an engine monitor then redo the aluminum panel. Does anyone know who does really nice work? I know most shops can do it, but I want something that looks factory. I'd like either silk screen letters or maybe engraved. I also want someone who is careful...

    S-Tec STC

I only know from reading on the internet. I've heard the cost of having one removed and re-STC'd for another aircraft is expensive. I believe that's why most used units are sold to experimentals.

12v arctic air install. any reviews?

that's kinda what I want to know. Someone on mooneyspace said he had one installed in a beech that has a 70amp alternator. I'm not sure what mine has, 60a? I wanted first hand experience with the load aspect of it and how well it works.

12v arctic air install. any reviews?

I'm circling back to the 12v arctic air that is installed in the baggage compartment. I have an older plane with a 14v system. I've read that these work much better in 28v planes. Has anyone installed this in a 14v plane? I'd love to hear any reviews...

Which do you have? I'm going 900 or 930 depending on panel space next year.

    Garmin 430 died- now what?

I'm not sure. I remember joking and saying that I should wreck my plane the day after I pay since I'd be locked in for the year. She did tell me specifically that getting a rating mid policy wouldn't change anything though.

    Garmin 430 died- now what?

I got my rating mid policy and got no adjustment after asking.

    Garmin 430 died- now what?

If you got the $$ and can find a shop, upgrade to 440. In the meantime, beg, borrow a 430 from someone if you can to finish ifr training. I don't think 440 is plug and play with 430. I think you need to change antenna unless you have a 430W, but I'm not 100% sure.

I drove to Sandy Springs which is near KPDK. My wife and I kept commenting on how hazy the horizon was.

    New Diamond DA50

I guess being in the vintage mooney world so long, my expectations are lower. I really like that the rear passengers have their own dedicated doors. Does anyone know a price a price point for this plane?
