    eggnog

there you go! Another who can do it without getting everyone's underpants in a wad over flying someone else's mission with only a PPL.

    eggnog

I miss Houston for a couple of reasons but this time of year I miss Bordens Premium eggnog so much that I plot a little secret flight there to some store, maybe Fiesta, and open the carton as soon as I take it out of the refrigerator, drink as much as I can and then roll in a ball with a tummy...

    Ahh, technology.

He landed safely and I'm guessing he's just telling us that his "toy" did what it did. You should like that.

    PA-32 Down in Jackson, MS

I know the topic of safety and flying is mentioned a lot. I just decided to google "car accident 3" and used advanced searched for last 24 hrs. No one probably saw this story but it happened, 3 people were killed yesterday in a car...

    20/10 vision

yes, I can diagnose from a distance. you have both myopia (nearsightedness) and your new (relatively) condition (since you wear bifocals) is presbyopia. But you also can take your glasses off and read just fine....because you're nearsighted. people who are not nearsighted and are 58 can't see...

    20/10 vision

you got it! I was thinking of making it my vanity license plate but maybe only an OD might figure it out. and btw, presbyopia means old eyes in Greek. Just what my patients want to hear, right :)

    20/10 vision

that's called presbyopia. seems like a lot of people don't know that word but it's what everyone gets in their 40's. farsightedness is not quite the opposite of nearsightedness because a lot of people can be young, see distance and near perfectly and they're still farsighted. When we're kids...

Wanting to take down a power pole near an airport

I thought you might be Native American and referring to a pole built by a white man....maybe a totem pole.

    20/10 vision

over-correction for myopia....generally does not usually occur unless your doctor is very sloppy and the teeny bit that might be over-corrected won't make a difference in situational awareness. 20/10 isn't going to make the plane twice as big compared to someone who only sees 20/20. Measuring...

Anyone interested in flying someone to WY?

Well my employee just told me she was never subpoenaed. I think she's freaking out about the issue but I think the thread ended with the real answer. We keep our lips zipped. Just wondering....if someone wants a car ride and offers to pay for the gas...but I wasn't really planning on going...

Anyone interested in flying someone to WY?

got ya. I thought, and maybe I shouldn't have thought this, that if you wanted to just get hours that would be a common cause.

Anyone interested in flying someone to WY?

I have an employee who needs to be a witness in a court case Oct. 18. She and her boyfriend have been driving there for this issue and asked me to take them but I would miss work and just don't have a plane I can take for that long. It's in Pinedale (KPNA). They'd pay their share of flying fees.

    Skycatcher g300 dual screens learning

just curious Greg, do you use a flight sim to familiarize yourself with things like this? I just haven't figured out MSFS yet.

    Skycatcher g300 dual screens learning

are you referring to computer flight simulator programs that have the g300? I was talking about a video but I have MSFS that I don't really use....or care too much but thanks for your almost effortless google search.

    Skycatcher g300 dual screens learning

I've flown it twice and am checked out in it but the check out should have been on the g300 I think. The FBO said I can ask them to hook up power so I can learn it on the ground but garmin should make a video (for free) to explain it. I'm trying to read the pdf manual at home and it's not the...

scud flying VFR @ 500 ft AGL question

thanks. The answer is to declare an emergency. I didn't think I could fly that low and get away with it....or maybe I could but that's not the legal way.

scud flying VFR @ 500 ft AGL question

right. but it's either fly illegally in a cloud (with no IFR cert) or fly illegally at 500 ft.

scud flying VFR @ 500 ft AGL question

yep, but let's say the clouds came down behind you as well and you're close to where you want to land....say 5 miles. Let's say you turned around and the cloud layer there was even worse so you decide to go back to your original heading. Basically what do you do? And I'm not IFR certfied.
