I think your estimate on the IFD is a little high. We just did the upgrade to the 440. Avidyne is offering good incentives for the 440 if you upgrade from a Garmin then you can sell the Garmin 430. You can get into a new GPS now for a good price.

I have a used Non-Waas 430 that we will be selling. I still would not recommend buying a used 430/530. Ours was 20 years old. We also put in the the Lynx 9000 transponder and it does have a better screen than our old 430.

Yes - ours is a non-was unit. It is also native 28 volt but we do have the 12v-28 volt transformer.
