    [NA - Dishes - NA]

Amen to that! I keep a stock of Solo cups in the cabinets for just that reason, and hardly ever reach for a real glass when I can grab a disposable Solo cup that I never need wash. Just throw that sucker in the recycling bin when done.

Is Honey Badger covered by insurance? I guess it doesn't matter, because Honey Badger doesn't give a f***

    Bought my first plane!

    Very cool! Congrats!

    Aunt Bee solos

After reading this thread, and watching that episode, I Googled her to find out more about her. Had no idea she'd moved to the South after the show ended, but seemed like she became kind of a reclusive old cat lady. Kind of sad.

If the government won't get you one, just become a televangelist and fleece your flock until they buy you a big fancy jet. Praise the Lord!

    My SSRI Special Issuance

Awesome, and congrats! I used Dr Bruce myself, although for a couple issues that didn't require nearly as much hoop-jumping as yours, and was so glad I did. Now, as he said.... go fly! :)

    Bose A20 or Lighspeed Tango

I bought an A20 and love it, although I have no other headsets to compare to except for the crappy loaners at the flight school that didn't fit right and that had mics that kept slipping down from my mouth during flight. I did buy mine about a month before the speaker offer, so bummer for me...

Last day to fly the old SFO Bravo

So glad I didn't start my flight training when I lived in San Jose, and instead waited until I moved back to Denver. Drinking from the fire hose is quite enough when learning to fly. I don't also need to be whipped, tied up, and strangled by the hose also.

    Dangerous jobs

Bartender is on that list? Seriously? Unless the local mob boss comes in and orders scotch, and you serve him a sweet fruity drink with an umbrella in it, I fail to see what could be so dangerous about being a bartender.

    Chevy Bolt?

OMG, I never made that connection before. Now I won't be able to get it outta my head! I went to put gas in the Jeep yesterday, and there was a Model 3 parked off on the side, like an employee had parked there. Kind of made me do a double-take. An EV parked at a gas station...

Questions about Spruce Creek for actual residents

I used to think LinkedIn was useless for me until I got heavy into Salesforce development, and now I get all kinds of messages from folks. I'm actually starting a new job search in the next couple weeks, so they might come in handy. I never know - one of them might offer me one MILLION (no...

Are Domestic Arlines Really Getting Worse?

I'd like to think that, too. That people would be willing to pay a little more for better service. But I'd bet 99% of people buying airline tickets simply sort by lowest price and buy the cheapest ticket they can, even if it's a few bucks less for a worse flight. I'm always amazed at what...

    Size matters

That's very similar to having people in front of you that don't know how to work the new touch-screen Coke machines. I haven't seen too many of them since moving back to Colorado, but they were starting to pop up all over the place in Silicon Valley, especially movie theaters. I've so often...

    Kid Scams

I love this thread - brings back memories! I remember those old comic book ads, although I never remember wanting to send off for anything. I looked at that article on Retroland, which had a link in it to a Cracked article on the top 12 comic book ads that made us cynical...

    Size matters

I've always found it amusing when I go to order a pizza and ask them how big a certain size is, and they say "Oh, it's 8 slices". No, I mean is it 12 inches, 16 inches, etc? They look at me like I have two heads sticking out of my neck. The number of slices does NOT tell me how big it is...

Questions about Spruce Creek for actual residents

Not to derail the thread, but I'm almost 52, and I can't wait to retire. I HATE sitting at a desk, staring at a computer all day, and punching a keyboard. But, it pays the bills. Tried to do real estate for a couple years because I was so sick of IT, but picked one of the worst years to get...

    Stolen Aircraft

They should hire those guys from the Airplane Repo TV show. They could find and get those planes back! Those guys were amazing!!!

    Apple Worth 1 Trillion

That's one thing I'll bash Apple on. As much as I like my Macbook, MacOS, and Magic Mouse, I absolutely HATE their flat-key keyboards, both on the Macbook and their standalone keyboards. At my last job, when they dropped off my Macbook they also left one of the Apple keyboards. I took it back...

    Private text for techies

I am NOT an engineer, but the way I think about it is... In a machine that's flying thousands of feet off the ground, that could theoretically fall out of the sky and kill you (and others) if a part breaks, fewer moving parts = fewer things to break, and therefore safer. I know that might be a...

    Apple Worth 1 Trillion

While I don't consider myself an Apple fanboi per se, they do hold a special place in my technology life, going all the way back to when I had an Apple //e in high school. Had a complete setup with the extended 80-column card, monitor shelf, green screen monitor, and two Disk ][ drives. I...
