    School Me on Maule M-9

I’ve never flown one, but I assume it’s like any other plane you put on floats: A bad plane and a bad boat.

    Headsets for Wife and Kids

I don’t understand how someone can afford to step up to a 6-seater (with all the extra fuel, maintenance, and up front cost that entails) and in the next breath say they don’t have pennies to pinch to protect the health of their wife and kids. Seems like odd priorities, but to each their own.

    Too Hot for Comfort?

Why not get one of those portable air conditioner units (cooler filled with ice and a couple fans). There are a few different manufacturers https://www.icybreeze.com/buy-icybreeze-v2-pro/?gclid=Cj0KCQjwhLKUBhDiARIsAMaTLnGPmEcni3Hvslm2jdKxeADyZji0ZM2CJ-McTdRHIim72UzObYB-XhMaAjZjEALw_wcB

    If You Had 5M

As others said, it’s the Mooney M18 Mite, the predecessor to the M20 we all know and love. Here’s an article by Budd Davisson about flying one. http://www.airbum.com/pireps/PirepMooneyMite.html

    If You Had 5M

I’m a simple guy. Just one of these would keep me very happy.

    Best single-seat aircraft

Mooney M-18 Quickie Q1 Bede BD-5 Cri Cri Pitts S1 (or am of the aerobatic monoplanes) Taylor Mini-imp Good luck finding most of these, but they’re all pretty cool planes, though I think they’re mostly closer to 85-110mph than 130kts.

    Who wants one? (eVTOL)

I can't be the only one that's debated whether my driveway is long enough to take off with one of these, whether they have the range to get me to my office, and what the commute time would be. Sadly, the calculations don't work out for my current situation. Maybe that's a reason to look for a...

    Fly and Bike

For what it's worth, Robertson Airport (4B8) in Plainville, CT abuts the Farmington Canal Trail which is paved and continuous from there for about 25 miles into Massachusetts. If I remember right Simbury Airport (4B9) is also very close to the same trail

    P-51 Mustang

Here's an interesting Kitplanes article about the effect and it relates some testing the author did on their RV-6. https://www.kitplanes.com/the-meredith-effect-fact-or-fiction/

    Missing aviation niche app/tool?

It isn’t an aviation tool, but I always wish there was a way to require a password to call certain phone numbers. I have a ton of coworkers and bosses numbers in my personal phone. Id love to not have to worry about butt-dialing any of those.

    CBD??

There's always the other option - do what you believe is best for your health and give up flying (or switch to LSA/gliders).

    Which car is cooler

I miss the first-gen roadster based on the Lotus Elise. That one made me excited about an electric car. Then again, I'd probably be just as happy (if not more happy) to have a Lotus Elise.

How else do you enjoy the beauty of the earth? I think it’s required to celebrate from the sky.

Help me understand people selling stuff.

I’ve been curious about this too. For bicycles in the $2000-$10,000 range people seem to think 10-20% below new is a good deal. And this has been going on for as long as I’ve been following bikes. I don’t get it. For that little of a delta, I’m just going to buy a new one. But I guess others...

    Best Keyboard for Me?

We started with a 61 key unweighted keyboard. It was enough for us to decide that we liked piano and wanted it in our lives longer term. Within 6 months we went out and purchased used Yamaha grand from the 70s. It’s been great for us. Like a poster above said though, if you can find a place to...

A camera for a non photographer

That looks fun. I got one of these to play with older cameras (produced from 1968-73) a couple years back. I really like that's there's nothing electric on it. And it has a good weight to it. Not as old as some of the others posted above.

What constitutes a “wheel”? And for that matter, what is a door? How you define these may change the answer.

Red Bull Pilots to Swap Planes in Midair

Took a bit of searching, but it appears both planes shown are owned by PARA TACTICS LLC. N3694U (the blue one) is registered as "Normal" while N3185Q (the silver one) is registered as Experimental R&D. It could be that the FAA website just hasn't caught up for N3694U yet.
