    Another ‘Cherokee 180 vs. 235’ thread…

Let’s ask AI: The Cessna 180 and 235 are both single-engine, high-wing, fixed-landing gear aircraft that are often used for personal and light-duty transportation. The primary differences between the two aircraft are payload capacity, engine power, and speed. The Cessna 180 has a lighter...

Cogscreen - If all pilots had to take it, how many would pass?

I didn’t do an FAA one, but did do a full neuropsych eval after a head injury years ago. It was actually really interesting to see what they asked and how they performed it. Without a baseline for before the incident that need to fall back on how your results compare to someone with a similar...

Any skiers/snowboarders here? WTH happened to lift prices?

I grew up racing up in Vermont. My parents did ski patrol for years. We skied both days every weekend from October through April. We all loved it. At this point I haven’t skied in years. Even the tiny local mountains are $60 for a half day. It’s ~$120 for the mountains I’d want to ski and that...

    Swisstrax Hangar Floor

I really like the look of epoxy flooring, but the architects and contractors I know all recommend against. Even with the fussy prep done by professionals they have had issues with all the brands they’ve tried. I don’t have any recommendations for a nice alternate. Just figured I’d put it out there.

    Patent law - career question

Thanks for joining and posting. PLI certainly has a presence and is what I’ve found recommended over and over for learning the material. The YouTube videos were helpful. Here’s a link to the first one for anyone else that’s interested.

    Patent law - career question

That aligns with what I’ve read. My company has at least a couple patent agents in-house. There may be more, but that is just what I found quickly searching our intranet. We do also have an education reimbursement program but everyone that I know that does it works full time while doing it and...

    Patent law - career question

Does anyone here work in patent law? I’m interested in learning a bit more about the field. I’m an engineer working at a large corporation in the aerospace industry. A former coworker mentioned the patent bar to me a few years back and I haven’t been able to get the idea of taking it out of my...

I’m another one that loves night flying. Here was NYC at night a few years back. I’ve posted these on this forum before, but I still love them.

    Getting Seaplane Rating

My biggest piece of advice is to have fun. Seaplanes are a blast. What will you be flying? The check ride is much less thorough than the initial. It’s just making sure you understand seaplane operations and how they differ from land.

    Let's Discuss Manned EVTOL's

Urban air mobility doesn’t make sense to me for these projects. It doesn’t matter what the power source is, flight is significantly less efficient than ground based transportation methods. As we’re trying to go towards sustainability, UAM development is just trying to cash in on something that...

    Let's Discuss Manned EVTOL's

    1) What is your favorite EVTOL in terms of aesthetic design and why? I don’t follow the market enough to have an opinion, but they look fun. 2) What application of EVTOL's are you most excited for and why? I have yet to see a use case other than personal recreation that makes sense. 3) Would...

    Fatal Mass. Gyroplane Crash, 12/4

Gyroplane and Seaplane flights were the most fun I’ve had in aircraft. Not that they’re similar, just that they’re both a ton of fun.
