Here are two websites that might be helpful for finding places to see and visit.

AOPA also has some neat destinations on their site too.

That is one of the neatest electronics toy kits I have ever seen. I have never seen one before. I would like to see the manual that came with it to see how much electronics it actually taught versus just how to wire projects. I was facinated by electronics as a child and would have loved to...
Same here. I built a 25" TV, Oscilloscope and nixi-tube voltmeter. I also built an FM transmitter but it was not Heathkit. Saying 25" TV sounds so wimpy these days with all of the huge flat screens, but back in the day it was pretty awesome.
That is so cool  Congrats!!!! I'll look forward to see more great photography in future issues.
I'm kinda' partial to the June 2016 issue, page 86. ;)
This is what I did. Plus I just like riding the bike paths around St Simons, Jekyll and Amelia Islands for the fun of it. I also look for nice weather too. :) I need to go check out Cedar Key. I've never been there.
On the CGR-30P, If you install the appropriate level transducers in your fuel tanks, they can send that information to your monitor, without those level transducers they use the calculated level based on fuel flow and which tank is selected.
I have an E.I. CGR-30P in my Cherokee. It is set up for two tanks and tracks each tank separately. It also annunciates after each 5 gallons of fuel burn to remind you to swap tanks. It displays the gallons remaining for each tank plus it displays a total fuel remaining. The other cool thing...
I can appreciate what you are saying. Between 2012 and 2015 I worked a consulting job 130 miles from home. I was so greatful for my airplane to commute back and forth each week. My flight would be just under an hour compared to a drive that would be just over two hours and usually through...
I'm in the southeast so my Cherokee meets my needs pretty well. The large majority of my flights are less than 200 miles. I will be the one flying this plane as long as my health holds out and I can maintain my medical. I will be the one to get the good out of my radios so I'm not concerned...
When I bought my airplane the radio stack was pretty awful. It was not a hard decision for me to pull the old stuff out and replace with new. I did it in two stages so I could stager and spread out the cost. I am really happy with what I have now though plus I'm 2020 compliant with ADS-B.
Sorry to hear about your avionics issues. Hopefully you can get everything worked out and get your IR finished up soon. Hearing your problems is one of the reasons I gutted my radio stack and started over with all new radios. I started my IR at Thanksgiving and I'm pretty frustrated too, but...
My thoughts too. We would have to know what intercom/audio panel and what comm radio you are using to even have a remote chance of helping you. My Garmin GTN650 has a SYSTEM setting for adjusting the transmit volume sent to the audio panel. You have to drive through setup menus to get to the...
I think DRAKE was just flying a search pattern to snoop around KANON so he would have something to GOSIP about at the PUB before BReaKing away to KAPA.
