    POA Cycling Club on Strava

We still have 14 members in the POA Cycling Club. We had 9 of the 14 making rides last week for a total of 344 miles. That's down a bit from last week. I'm still out of town on business and was not really expecting to be able to ride until I return home this coming Saturday. Fortunately I was...

    POA Cycling Club on Strava

We are up to 14 members in the POA Cycling Club now. We had 10 of the 14 making rides last week for a total of 456 miles. That's up more than 50% from last week! That is pretty awesome. Unfortunately I'm out of town on business this week and next week, so no riding for me until I get back home.

Guess who crossed the 400 hr mark today!

Tim that is really cool!!! I have a Rotti that I love but he's a little big for flying in my plane.

    GTN 650 or 750?

It really comes down to your budget. If you already have a good audio panel, the GTN650 does just about everything the 750 does. When I upgraded my avionics last summer I just couldn't justify the extra cost. If you have an extra $5000 to blow, go for it, but if budget is a concern you will...

    POA Cycling Club on Strava

Yes, you can join. Even with the in door trainers you are still churning and burning. I do wish there was a separate category on Strava to tally the real rides versus the Zwift rides, but where the individual rider can merge them into his stats as they desire.

    POA Cycling Club on Strava

We have 12 members now with 8 making rides last week for a total of 297 miles. I was out of town last week and only able to make one ride. Hopefully I will be able to contribute more this week.

    Rainy days and Mondays...

Yes it has been raining here a lot lately. If this was south Asia I would say we are in monsoon season. At least I think the rain will hold off long enough to get in a bike ride this morning.

    POA Cycling Club on Strava

We've had eleven sign up for the POA Cycling Club on Strava. This week six of the eleven made rides for 237 total club miles. I have to go to Baltimore for four days this coming week, unfortunately I won't be able to make my usual rides. Hopefully you guys will be able to pick up my slack.

Twin Mustang XP-82 Coming Together Nicely

I wouldn't mind meeting up with you guys if my work schedule permits. I haven't seen it in over a year. I'm attaching pics of an EAA chapter fly-out we made one Saturday to check it out.

What do you pay for go go juice?

It was hovering at $3.75 for a good while but recently went up to $3.95

    POA Cycling Club on Strava

I've never tried Zwift and know nothing about it beyond a couple of YouTube videos I've seen. I don't have a problem with being able to upload your Zwift rides to Strava but it would seem to make more sense if the Zwift rides were contained in their own separate category from the actual rides...

What an inspiring video to come back and ride like that while being paralyzed. It would be a bit unnerving being strapped in with your feet taped to the pedals. He really has to have a lot of trust in his friends to catch him at the end of the ride to keep from falling.

That was incredible!!! While I was watching that I was wondering how many times those guys have busted their tails learning how to do those tricks. It was neat at the end when they showed the out takes of their crashes. Thanks for posting that.

I think there is a button to click to select between cycling, running and swimming. Check to see if you are in the running mode on the Strava website. I'm not sure how to toggle it on the phone app. PS: I found the selections under the PROFILE view on the phone app.

    POA Cycling Club on Strava

Yes, I know what you mean. I was using Runtastic before Strava. All my friends in town were using Strava, so for me to interact with them I started using Strava. I really prefer the Runtastic record screen over Strava. Strava only shows Time, Avg Speed and Distance and there is no way to...

Now that I might be able to do if it is on a 'rail trail' that doesn't have rough hills to climb. There is a rail trail that runs from Atlanta to Alabama called the the Silver Comet Trail. If I remember right it is around 60 miles or 100 kilometers. I would like to ride it sometime. I know...

While we are on a diversion from flying, I'll try to tie this into flying...on two wheels. This is one of my favorite cycling videos on YouTube. It is Stelvio Pass in Northern Italy. The downhill run looks like a total adrenalin rush. The uphill climb looks like pure torture. I have so much...

    POA Cycling Club on Strava

There are a lot of transformation stories from cycling on YouTube. I cycle to improve my health. Tread mills bore me, but I love cycling. I hope the POA cycling club will be an encouragement for all of us to cycle on a regular basis and encourage each other. I'm glad to see everyone...
