I'm part owner of a Cessna 150 with a single radio (yes, we've upgraded for ADSB in/out and it's wonderful.) Because i'm on FF for most of my flights, i purchased a Yaesu handheld so that i can listen to ATIS and ATC at the same time. However, this is rarely convenient as i have to pull off one...

In all fairness, my one time of VFR into IMC occurred in a sailplane in the 1970s. It was after a winter storm, and the lift under the clouds was impressive, at 1000ft/minute...Before i knew it, i was sucked into the clouds. I immediately directed my sailplane away fro the mountain i was next...

What i find weird is that the Dublin/Concord corridor used to have a 6k base, and now the ends are at 7K and the middle is 5K. I do like the new corridor between the peninsula and OAK. Brian

Sailplanes. they're sailplanes, not gliders. I have about 25 hours in sailplanes dating back to my college days in the 70s. Never got the rating because i could solo with my ASEL. Nothing compares. Everytime i'm a bit high on final in my 172, i wish i had spoilers.
