The past few years I’ve planned to hit Ripon at 7:15-7:30 and haven’t had too much trouble. Plans being what they are, I arrived closer to 7:45. The only time I had trouble was when clouds were still too low and I had to wait it out at Madison because I didn’t have an IFR slot.

I volunteered in Vintage last year (2019) and took the required class. Everything was simple until I got to the flight line and the person in charge told me they had their own signals and that they weren’t using the normal ones because no pilots understood them. It was really strange.
